Well it depends in Garmin themselves if they want to develop the app for maemo 5.
At the moment, if u need turn by turn voice navigation, ur best bet iz wait for Ovi Maps in Maemo to be updated to support it...
OR just try Sygic Mobile Maps for Maemo 5...I dunno if they have Malaysian maps though...try checking first at their homepage..where the app was sold icon_rolleyes.gif

Currently for N900 Sygic only provide map for USA, Canada and Europe. Maybe we should show them that N900 has a presence here in Malaysia - http://www.sygic.com/index.php/en/contacts.html

I personally believe the only selling point of the iPhone is that its COOL to have..

comparing the iPhone to the N900 is like comparing.... Megan Fox to.. uhh.. well.. your wife..

The iPhone, much like Megan Fox.. is nice to see.. nice to hold.. (nice to bang lol).. anyways.. yeah its all these visual aesthetic features that sells the iPhone.. but like Megan Fox.. who probably cant cook and doesnt know what a broom is.. the iPhone lacks the more advance features... which.. a wife would have..

the N900.. which you are married to... may not look as good as Megan Fox.. and is certainly ALOT fatter.. however your wife... lets you explore her all around inside out.. .she can cook.. clean.. sweep... she has all the advance features which the iPhone lacks...

So yea... while anyone with a million bucks can get a Megan Fox... only the lucky ones know the benefits of having a wife..  rclxms.gif
I have had the N900 for about 3 months now.. and I love my wife...  wub.gif

A quick praise to the Nokia store at The Gardens.

I bought my N900 through pre-order there. I asked the staff about the DC-11 mobile charger. He told me those who are eligible will be inform later because they need to gather info from all the outlets before they can determine who're the first 300 buyers.

I had my some doubts about actually receiving the charger (no supply, staff ambik guna untuk diri sendiri, things like that). But surprise, surprise... a few days ago, one of the staff at the store gave me a call to inform me that I was one of the first 300 buyers and I can collect the DC-11 charger at the store.

I went there this morning to collect it and currently charger it for the first time. Will give an update later on how it performs. Its good to know that some corporation keep their words and there are people that do their job honourably biggrin.gif

During the 1 hour Streamyx 1Malaysia downtime... I manage to use N900 to connect to DiGi smile.gif

Connected using USB to my laptop running Ubuntu Linux 9.04 (Karmic). The network manager applet detects the N900. Connection was easy. GO LINUX biggrin.gif

i m using my n900 + digi to on9 now..lol
can i use n900 as modem n use digi to connect to internet on pc?
*
Yes you can smile.gif

Scenario A: Computer (Windows based) <--> PC Suite <--> N900 <--> ISP (DiGi, Maxis, Celcom)

or

Scenario B: Computer (Linux based) <--> N900 <--> ISP (DiGi, Maxis, Celcom)

Both ways need just minimal configuration.

Thanks for the info. I've done my part. One of the things I keep highlighting to them is to continue and improve their Linux support.

If what you mean = laptop/desktop <--> USB cable <--> N900 <--> Internet

Then yes I have.

Means using N900 to online w/o using wifi, just connect the N900 to pc, and choose pc suite ?
then how eh ?  what is the setting need to do ?
*
I'm using GNU/Linux, I don't think my method works for you. But I'll just post here in case other GNU/Linux users wants to know how.

1) connect USB
2) select "PC Suite Mode" in N900
3) right-click on Network Manager Applet
4) click on "Mobile Broadband" tab
5) click "Add"
6) go thru the wizard, I basically click "Next" all the way (kinda like Windows)

I dont understand why u guys make your life so complicated.

Install Nokia Pc suite then connect it using bluetooth or cable then press connect to the internet WALLA.
*
I think even that is easier than pc suite. No need to download anything, just right click on the network icon and follow the wizard (which i think is shorter n quicker than the pc suite installation wizard)

Any connections after that is just plug n play.
