im using the original ram ( 1gb ) + 4gb sdcard with readyboost but doesnt seem to improve performance.
is it recommended to upgrade to 2gb ram ?
@mengsuan : im constantly seeing the CPU going 100% by opening browsers , folders ( simple actions ) and you still want to undervolt the processor ?

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Apr 7 2010, 12:40 PM) Undervolt!=underclock. Undervolting does not affect processing speed. my bad.. i thought undervolt = underclock. @jasonyao : i have never installed pps on my mini.. but as i stated i frequently see the CPU goes 100% during normal usages ( web surfing , opening folders , bla bla bla ) with 1GB RAM Maybe with 2GB will improve the situation a bit ?

QUOTE(venicelim @ Apr 10 2010, 02:46 PM) what u 4Gb sd card with ready boost? what is that for and why? readyboost is some sort of speed enhancement by using the sd card as temporary cache.. supposed to speed up systems with 1gb ram or lesser.. more QnA at Tom Archer's Blog : ReadyBoost QnA

QUOTE(venicelim @ Apr 10 2010, 03:07 PM) there is not much explanation on how to create ready boost? just put a memory card in the SD card slot will do? yes.. but the sd card must have a compatible read/write speed.. after inserting , windows will pop up the autorun window and if compatible will have an option to use the drive for readyboost. like attachment shown below.. and like vincent said , adding physical ram will always be better than readyboost.. But due to cost restraints.. well you know.. lol..
EDIT : pendrives with 4gb works also but reason i choose sd card coz it will stay hidden inside the netbook even when i keep inside sleeve while pendrive will cause a protrusion.. This post has been edited by kennywai: Apr 10 2010, 03:16 PM

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Apr 11 2010, 09:47 AM) Hi, My 210 is using XP ( pre installed ) with Atom 450. I find the Wireless reception of this netbook is quite poor, esp if it is used on the first floor while the modem is stationed on the ground. I use to get only best 2 bars, while my ( other ) Asus netbook manages to get 4 to 5 bars. Though, I upgrade with the latest driver, I am still faced with the same problem. Speed wise, it is pretty fast. Does anyone of you face the same problem ? Shall I send to HP service centre for a check. My is not from Telekom. It is 210-1001TU ( could be overseas model ). im having this reception issue too.. i have perfect 5 bars with my xps but only 2-3 bars with the hp mini.. maybe due to the different wireless card ? xps has draft-N while the hp mini only has b/g..

theres something i'd like to comment on the battery discharge rate..
im using 7 home premium for normal surfing , msn all that and minimum brightness... the discharge rate is faster than a friend which is using 7 starter doing the same thing but with 25% brightness.. normal surfing , msn...
does this means that win 7 home premium uses more battery power than win 7 starter.. puzzled..

you can disable the quickweb when you are inside windows.. imo quickweb is just useful for you when you are at the airport needed to have a quick glance or something...
i am using 2gb ram with win 7 home premium.. yes there is significant improvement but its still no where near to a real notebook..

anybody have power issues using other versions of win 7 ?
im using home premium and the battery seems to last a little over 2 hours with wifi and minimal surfing..
my friend was able to have 3hours plus doing the same thing with win 7 starter... seems home premium is using more power... anyway how to make it less power hungry ? like disabling aero peek..
