Suddenly, windows telling me my windows genius, ask me to activate. But when i key in the key from the sticker it fail. Anyone help? Thanks

Pre-install, without anything been done, it ask me to activate now. While the key activate last time is Some -OEM key, after purchase never activate or do anything related to microsoft.

streamyx stated in its website tht the netbook come with 2 years warranty..
but I check in HP website only 1 year..
why?

FYI, TM never released anything mentioning it's 1 year. Even their ads still mentions 2 years smile.gif.

Wondering why i insert a empty 8GB USB flash drive, the recovery utility told me not enough space?

What capacity pendrive i need to enable me to make a recovery image into pendrive? Thanks!

@ff8ong, no worries. HP already has a special partition for recovering so no need to copy it out. (+8 gb is not enough, the recovery partition is very huge)

So if i plan to recovery now, what am i suppose to do? can direct BIOS screen and press some button? Its not necessary to make a image to pendrive?

yeah,there is a button for recovery if not mistaken (can't remember the combo di) so i think there is no necessary to make an image.

Press 'esc' when you boot up the netbook, right when the big HP logo comes out. That will take you into the recovery console. If you just got your netbook, I suggest going into recovery and selecting "minimized recovery" (or something like that). This will format your Windows partition and reinstall Windows plus drivers without any of the HP junk software (only the HP support assistant will remain). Noticeably faster performance. mengsuan taught me this. Luckily I didnt format it myself. biggrin.gif
