The voice is another line with new number and new phone so if you want to keep the copper line it's ok.

Wah more and more people subscribing to unifi...hope tmnut won't have very 'big(or small)' surprises under their sleeves.
Anyways unifi only comes Q4 at my area,at least can wait to see how things are unfolding... Btw,any unifi users using newsgroups DDL?Can get max speeds? Do hope tmnut improve more on pings though... This post has been edited by Neptern: Mar 30 2010, 07:35 PM |

Wow that is pretty awesome speeds. For international sites we don't need a lot of speed(3-4mbps should be enough). Thus, still need improvements to it.
The torrents and DDL speeds are pretty awesome, can max out the download speed, very nice indeed.Sure hope that there will not be any caps.... |

QUOTE QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 31 2010, 07:45 PM) they are getting about 1/2 the speeds at most, haven't seen full speeds from international yet. I have a US server I can put up files for people to do some download speed testing. * I'm getting 20mbps on all torrents and HTTP links. 200-500KB/s from peers in Japan, US peers are 100-200KB/s. Yea please do use it to the max to tell tm how much we really use the internet Sure hope they would also reduce the price and also not only when the service is new only get nice speeds.... Yea sometimes i just wish there was another isp(maxis or time maybe?)to compete with tm by laying their own fiber network. This of course needs huge capex.Gomen just don't want to unbundle it cuz tm is still GLC.....damn...
Guess most of us are stuck with tm fiber forever and ever.... |

100mbps?Now 20mbps is like rm249 so 100mbps will be rm1245?
Please don't even dream of affording it unless you are a very rich person.Unless there is a huge price reduction i just don't see it coming anytime soon. Btw,will the residential package ever reach 1gbps?I know business package will get it someday but how about average joe like us? |

Yea need price reduction and better cap on vip5...
Wouldn't it be better if they just cap the upload speed like in japan to discourage uploading?Does it reduce bandwidth usage this way? This post has been edited by Neptern: Apr 1 2010, 03:11 AM |

I do hope tmnut really can handle the load when the user base grows exponentially.

Wow pretty nice debate going on there but you guys do agree that:
1.The cap is too darn low at the beginning(still yet to confirm when the new cap will be coming and how much) 2.Pricing wise could be lower(the choice of unbundling if people don't want iptv?) IMHO,fiber internet is about using next gen application on the internet and this requires a lot of bandwidth and consistent quality of internet so hopefully tm will at least give us that amount of sufficient bandwidth and service to truly enjoy unifi. |

Even if they charge per GB after quota do you think tm will use the money to 'improve' our internet?I don't think so...
Might as well just cap upload speed to discourage p2p and no limit on download speed. If our neighbouring countries can do it,i don't see why we can't.Why are we setting crap standards for our internet? If tm do wanna cap then it better be a pretty high cap, lower price and better quality or people will scream. This post has been edited by Neptern: Apr 3 2010, 09:25 PM |

Oh just because tm is giving us crap internet and we have no other choice,we should just sit on our butts and wait for a miracle to happen or just swallow everything they give?
At least complaining is doing something unless some isp comes along or something... |

You're right...I don't want 100mbps with 60gb quota in the future.Tm needs to upgrade their network to cope with higher speeds and lower the prices.
