QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Mar 26 2010, 02:42 PM) Not gonna make a difference. Even the fact their a monopoly they know but they don't care. They will cap anyway. Less international bandwidth you use, the less they pay for it thus more profit margin Hmm this is the bad part, at least the Gov should be on our side, but TM is own by Gov QUOTE(endymeon @ Mar 26 2010, 02:42 PM) Well there is a lot of legal content we can download, Linux distro, free trial software, games demo and etc |

QUOTE(drindy @ Mar 26 2010, 02:47 PM) Can anyone tell me if I subscribe to the Streamyx BlockBuster deal now but terminate it in less than 1 year to switch over to UniFi when it is available in my area, whether I need to pay the admin fee of RM350 for not completing the contract? Based on FAQ in HSBB pageall penalty fee will be waive upon successful HSBB activation. |

QUOTE(ahpek26 @ Mar 26 2010, 08:30 PM) this word is suspicious, it would be a lot better if TM can come up black and white with this cap matter, as i believe it is not that hard to decide unless those who decide on this cap got no common sense at all. |

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Mar 27 2010, 03:52 PM) those type of guys just need a little "bodek" and they will apply directly.example: Wan: Eh man kau tau x pasal UniFi? Man: Eh apa tu? Wan: Pakej baru dari TM, boleh download movie laju, 1 movie 5 minit je (20Mb package) Man: Ye ke? ni nak kena register ni. Thus the poor Man was conned by Wan who is also an Agent. P.S this is just a joke, dont take it personally. |

How come they are offering HD channel who is likely not most of people care to watch? i bet out of 1000 customer only 5 will be watching.
I hope they add some good channel worth of out money, i was actually hoping if they could deliver local tv station in HD that would be cool. |

Hi guys,
i just call UniFi customer care and asked a few question, so here is the result( this is what the lady told me) Speed cap count both upload and download for local and international bandwidth. Once bandwidth limit is reached, speed will be capped at 80% to 85% (wasn't it 10% ? ) Speed will only be capped for international link local link will not be capped. These info somehow doesn't convince me, i think the lady didn't know much. |

as far as i am concern, i encounter a Malaysia torrent tracker last time, hmm forgot the name. But i am sure it was malaysia. So we should use torrent as Demonic Wrath say. Well we can prepare guide on how to do it, and like people used to say "if there is a will, there is a way"

QUOTE(yipwh @ Mar 31 2010, 09:27 PM) Guys u need to understand P2P concept...1MB from US is quite ok actually. Imagine 100 ppl in Malaysia with 1MB downloading the same anime like Naruto from US. U will be leeching each other at that time time. Unleast u download direct http from US site..then cannot do anything lar. But still, the price byte to byte, fiber optic is the future. Imagine download a movie 1.5gb in just 1hr. Don't think streamyx can do that. And i believe now is just hot only...there will be a time...downloading also boring dah. Nothing to download..hahah Actually streamyx 4Mb can download more than 1.5GB per hour. |

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Apr 2 2010, 06:15 PM) 8mbps within the IPTV network. If I were to say, start an OpenVPN daemon on my desktop and wire it to both the Internet and IPTV network.. you would be able to connect to my PC via the IPTV network and utilize 8mbps of my internet line via the IPTV VPN link. With round robin gateway load balancing setup you could get 10+8mbps but it would be a hassle to set up every time. This is just technically what should be possible. Right now, I've done some tests and I can ping and establish connections to every set top box thats connected on the IPTV network. However, I still need to test the bandwidth of the link as everyone is just assuming its 8mbps. A better use for this would be for us to set up a private network over or something for guaranteed unmetered 8mbps i kind a dont get it, but does it mean we can run our own server on this private network, for example HD movies server? sorry for asking kind a noob question. |
