Maybe American cogent servers will work better now. |

QUOTE(sg999 @ Mar 29 2010, 11:48 AM) how about the iptv quality? It's full SD resolution, but they're either compressing the quality too much, or just have the wrong settings entirely on the encoder.izit full SD? Added on March 29, 2010, 6:52 pmdamn worse HSBB high speed to LOCAL only To my eyes it looks like a really high mp4 compression..... the colours are oversaturated, it looks like they've converted it to progressive format - because there is a shutter / strobing effect, and it's obvious they're blending the fields together because the picture looks soft (out of focus). They are also having a lot of trouble with interlace flickering - this is flickering you see on horizontal lines / graphics. At least there's no ghosting effect, so they got 1 thing right. How they got both progressive artifacts and interlace artifacts at the same time is beyond my understanding. This post has been edited by Arlington: Mar 29 2010, 07:17 PM |

It must be, because there has already been a problem on it a couple of months ago.http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...1135&sec=nation |

QUOTE(sg999 @ Mar 29 2010, 02:58 PM) Is there a point? TM is supposed to be good at telephone service. - They're not TM is supposed to be good at internet sevice. - They're not TM is just entering TV service for the first time, I don't even expect them to be good. - By the way.... They're not At least with triple play the phone line cost is sort of invisible. I'm just paying for more Internet bandwidth. If I had an opportunity to take Time or Maxis I would. The IPTV is just a new gadget to play around with until I get bored. I don't think it will entertain me for long because I can't stand the picture quality. I heard there might be a National Archives channel. I think that would be interesting to watch, because it literally can't be seen anywhere else. For everything else, I'd rather watch unblurry, uncensored downloads. If TM doesn't throttle the iTunes store, I may even purchase the content. |
