they wont implement back unless ppl start to brag like download >100gb a day 24/7 kinda crap
imagine quarter of those could already bring down the entire international bandwidth. Then TM will start capping for good.
or worse implement stupid throttling on p2p, file sharing sites which affects all users.
Hopefully they reduce the package price instead, RM149 for basic package .....not for common people usage

QUOTE(Diran Hans @ Mar 26 2010, 05:32 PM) lets hope the cap amount is 2x more(at least) "We are paying a premium for technology that offers super high bandwidth, so a daily cap shouldn’t be applied. There’s no value in that; we would be better off with regular broadband,” she said. taken from herei really her I like her too

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Mar 26 2010, 05:33 PM) 180GB would be nice for 5mbps. 270GB for 10mbps 360GB for 20mbps. haha If they were to cap it, I prefer if they would cap the speed by time(e.g 12PM - 11:59PM Capped Primetime , 12AM - 11:50AM Uncapped) and not by bandwidth.

Daily cap is insane, monthly cap is the standard, but I do feel the 60G cap is way too low, at least 120G is reasonable Still removing the cap is big news and I hope this move should learn and implement by other ISPs like P1, Maxis, Digi, etc, etc Or sooner and later, we will "potong" the bad ISPs This post has been edited by mits27: Mar 26 2010, 05:39 PM

Does UniFi have a Fair Usage Policy (FUP)? Does the FUP differ across packages?
Yes, UniFi packages are subject to Fair Usage Policy. FUP is a standard global practice to ensure that a good quality of experience is provided to all customers. UniFi packages for consumers (not businesses) come with a volume-based allocation and monthly download volume is capped. However, the FUP will not impact customers who do not exhibit abusive usage behavior, and will not impact the delivery of HyppTV and value added services.
ok i applaud you for being upfront about FUP and usage caps.
"...the FUP will not impact customers who do not exhibit abusive usage behavior..."
what does that mean? does it simply mean that customers that do not use more than their allocated usage will not be affected? or does it mean that we can go over our allocated allowance by x amount and still be unaffected if it doesnt go over y amount, if so, pls elaborate.
yes FUP may be a std global practice, but responsible isps would also detail out what happens when one goes over the usage allowance. will they be throttled? how much? when will it be lifted? 1st of every month? billing cycle?
i agree with usage caps but they have to be reasonable. a 2Mbit line is able to use 10Gb a day as an eg., so why is a 20Mbit line capped at an average on 120-Gb/ 30 days = 4Gb per day?
pls consider increasing/doubling your usage allowance. if 120Gb = 20Mbit is your typical customer they will be better off using a 1Mbit line with streamyx. why? because even though the line is at 20Mbit, it is not as though we will have 20Mbit access to INTL sites, you cannot guarantee (afford) that, and i accept it.
one size does not fit all.

Back to square then , don't rant if your UniFi is slow. Now TM would say hey look its you that voted for no cap and now you're going to suffer. Knowing how TM loves blaming us. I am just going to wait and see. I bet in a year or two , its just going to be streamyx #2
