Guys don't just complaint, MAKE SURE YOU COMPLAINT THE RIGHT THING.
Asking for unlimited bandwidth is IMPOSSIBLE. TM won't let you D/U 6TB of data for RM249. Instead, ask them at least double or triple the cap Crap: 60GB 90GB 120GB MORE REALISTIC: 120GB 200GB 300GB This post has been edited by jieming: Mar 26 2010, 01:41 AM |

QUOTE(jieming @ Mar 26 2010, 01:37 AM) Guys don't just complaint, MAKE SURE YOU COMPLAINT THE RIGHT THING. Clearly TM thought about it but then they decided lets lower it to say, half the "realistic amount" so they can save even more money. clearly their research investment is "well spent". Now people don't even wanna go near unifail, congratulations.Asking for unlimited bandwidth is IMPOSSIBLE. TM won't let you D/U 6TB of data for RM249. Instead, ask them at least double or triple the cap Crap: 60GB 90GB 120GB MORE REALISTIC: 120GB 200GB 300GB I'm definitely foreseeing streamyx going to get an even crappier cap compared with unifail in order for people to considered unifail. Push comes to shove people don't have choice but to pay, use and like it. Lets just see how this is gonna play out. |

QUOTE(HiT-AbLe @ Mar 25 2010, 01:19 PM) U guys still remember when TMnut first launched the 4MB and price at RM268(somewhere around that price range), and nobody bothers to subscribe it so ended up they forced to launch the RM160 combo deal for 4MB. yes..they have to reduce the price is very expensive nowSo please don't subscribe the Unifail eventhough they provide free installation. |

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 26 2010, 12:57 AM) Who's the smart mod that went and merge the boycott topic with this one? The two topics are of an entirely different nature. Sorry guys, the topics were merged (?!?!) by a moderator who isn't dedicated to this part of the forum, reckon he was acting hastily on a redundant thread report. I've split them again but it's probably not exactly the same as before. |

QUOTE(jieming @ Mar 26 2010, 01:37 AM) Since when they listen to the Rakyat? They are all ready laughing all the way to the bank! QUOTE(raist86 @ Mar 26 2010, 08:05 AM) First was their advertising in newspapers which look like an Ad for U mobile (ytl must be happy that TM is doing them free ad campaign) and now this? stupid pricing and stupid bandwidth cap. Whoever that's running their marketing strategy should find new jobs or go home and sleep. Smells like a scam to me.. Gov gave them a couple billion to lay the lines and they purposely make the package so that no one wants to sign up. In the end, they benefit cos less subscriber to deal with, less cost for them (don't need to connect the last mile fiber to subscriber's house and less equipment to buy) but still able to get the gov's money. What a nice way of earning money.. We should start a company also.. call it LYNet. Den we propose to government that we'll supply the latest tech in broadband and once we have the money, create a few package which is ridiculously priced so that no one will subscribe.. Free money and don't need to do work also. |

I have always been skeptical when our beloved country carries out a plan that is probably beyond their intellect scope to handle in the long run.
sadly its also part of a giant foreign telco that is assisting. it smelt and felt like a scam from the start, billions of taxpayers money to give us back a so-called high speed to the world while restricting you to the point of price and information/content you can have. we all know for sure some of it goes into a few well known cronies pockets and at the end of it, the consumers will have to swallow it and accept whatever is chuck in our faces hence the continuous monopoly of our ISP in Malaysia. wait for it my fellow Malaysians that the current Screamyx services will be increased in speed but will receive a 30GB cap to ensure we have to swallow a 60GB cap because they know for sure they can do it and with the higher cronies backing. |

QUOTE Consumers let down by cap on UniFi packages WTF!!!By JO TIMBUONG intech@thestar.com.my PETALING JAYA: After the excitement of Telekom Malaysia unveiling UniFi, its high-speed broadband service that offers Internet speeds of up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps), the bubble burst for many consumers here. Some are disappointed over what they feel are expensive charges for the packages for home users: RM149 for 5Mbps, RM199 for 10Mbps, and RM249 for 20Mbps. In Singapore, a 1Gbps (gigabit per second) service – which is five times the speed of a 20Mbps connection – only costs about RM200. But the real disappointment is the realisation that the UniFi packages have a cap on the amount of data that can be downloaded. The consumers bristled when they learned that the 5Mbps service is capped at 60GB of data per month. The 10Mbps service is capped at 90GB while the 20Mbps service has a 120GB cap. They were even more disappointed to learn that the data download caps are calculated on a daily basis. Consumers were further horrified to learn that if they exceeded their daily download limit, their high-speed broadband connections would be throttled down to about 10% of the purchased speed. Telekom Malaysia CEO Datuk Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said at a press conference to announce the UniFi pricing yesterday that the measures were part of its Fair Usage Policy. “This policy is a standard industry practice to ensure that all subscribers get to enjoy the same web surfing quality,” he said. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched UniFi at the Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday night. |

To answer your query, the topic was merged because there's an earlier topic on "Rants" created by Roxygal:QUOTE This is the future post for people to rant, complain and share about unifi service only People that using unifi can post in here And since this topic was created later in regards to "rants" also although of different nature (capping vs slowness/connectivity); I decided to merge it together. Maybe it's my mistake for doing that, but I see too many similar topics around (was clearing couple topics in regards to HSBB). Anyway, thanks to wKkay who rectified the situation. |
