Frankly, I'm just disappointed. I thought they're gonna have a 100mbps option. Like Japan.

nope. it'll not gunna happen. if hey want to catch up with japan, the gov should break tm monopoly and give license to foreign isp instead. in fact, the gov let sarawak/sabah leave behind because of geological. heh...japan can deploy fiber optic on their entire region, why not mareshia?

Wait for YTL's 4G to come out.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, TM does have competition and they are required to lease their lines out to 3rd parties.

I think the pricing is in line with what they have now. They could probably do with at least 30% price cuts across the board though.

But lets see how much of a fight YTL will put up, considering their service is going to be nationwide.
*
but still, the backbone/gateway own by TM. If YTL/foreign ISP lay their own backbone, that should be break tm's monopoly

if lease to 3rd parties, no competition for tm for sure,

I don't have faith on wireless isp's. they like to boast to promote their product, and then give crappy service to customer

What would they do if we go over the cap limit? I'm very disappointed with the cap.

have you try celcom broadband? once reach 5GB on D68 and D98 package, celcom will throttle down your speed till you are unable to load youtube vids properly.

so tm will impose the same thing; throttle the the speed, for example 5Mbps to 512kbps

HSBB - pay less with caps. pay more to get more bandwidth
streamyx - expensive with no caps.

Why did TM postpone the price release last night? was it like when PM saw the price and say OMG this is too high, lower the price or my relatives wont let me off the hook if i announce this price tongue.gif

It would be nice if this was the case smile.gif)
*
if tm announce the price that night, sure people straight away condemn PM and someone will shout somewhere in the crowd "i will not vote BN in next GE!" XD

Many people are believing this rumor because ....

1. in last nights speech regarding price drop, najib only mentioned about student prices drop, but nothing in regards to regular home subscriber prices. So obviously if he didn't mention about it, then the price probably not gonna drop isn't it ? He kinda glossed over the pricing so fast as well doh.gif so what are they hiding ?
*
it won't because people might start dumping HSBB because it's expensive, and switch to streamyx instead.

so i believe, tm will not drop any prices for streamyx, for sure

I'm still drooling over Singtel SGD 46.90 for 10Mbps unlimited broadband.....We will be paying 4 times the price(dun count conversion, if you work/live in SG, SGD 50 is almost similar to RM50 here) for less,

Malaysia Boleh!!!
*
but there's a problem over there. SG isp will monitor our downloads and check of we download illegal stuffs (especially anime fansubs)

if we can gain access to our router, we can see the total traffic (in/out) inside our router
