well at least with the HSBB launch we will be out of the 1MB era, our neighboring countries are now talking of 24mbps minimum, and we are still going like "wow" for a 1MB connections from all kind of telco's to ISP, enough of taking us for a ride, we want the real thing.

What's the use of broadband services that advertised but can't deliver.
Restricts bandwidth and throttle customers.
Even with 5 MBPS I don't think youtube, rapidshare or any downloads be any faster!
*
It will still be better then the existing copper cable ADSL technology we are currently utilizing.

Im sure business (F&B) in Bangsar area will apply this service and give free wifi service, putting a banner 5MB hsbb connection. That will be the time to go there and start testing.

Yeah. I tested HSBB as well. International sites... faster a bit, but not by much. But if the server is locally hosted in Malaysia. mmg super fast.
*
Did you test during the launch ? So saying that Dataran Merdeka area already covered with HSBB since people could test during the launch ?

Okay guys.. I just called and subscribed. My area is under TTDI exchange and I took the first installation date which is 29th of March sad.gif

The packages are VIP5/10/20.. the prices are confirmed by that lady to be whats stated here (5mb 149, 10mb 199, 20mb 249).

Service is FREE until 1st of July. She told me there is a fair usage policy but it's not implemented yet so no caps so far. Haihz 4 more days lol

I also had to pick a new phone number for the VOIP line (starts with 773 now lol)
*
Walauweh u are a damn fast.

if got cap, then tm's sucking money plan is a success = =
*
Cap or no cap, let them launch it nationwide first. At least whole klang valley/selangor covered first. Then we see if they can maintain the service.

Yes they might cap in future. And its 24 months contract.

VOIP line she told me rm0.10 for handphone calls and TM line is free of charge. I think there was some other charge but my BM is rusty.

UPDATE : ARGH SHE JUST CALLED ME TO SAY 29TH IS FULL MUST WAIT TILL 30TH AND IT WILL TAKE 8 HOURS TO INSTALL CAUSE MUST DRILL HOLE AND PULL FIBER WTF sad.gif
*
So meaning fix line to fix line is free ? I wonder if there is any chargers for the VOIP service. Isit from BBPhone ?
I used BBphone service last time, it was not bad at all, very clear with 512 connection. Only that the system always went down for maintenance. Sometimes for months

Anyway.. just to sum it up for you guys from what I know :

VIP 5mbps RM149
VIP 10mb RM199
VIP 20mb RM249

- All speeds are symmetric
- Contract is 24 months
- No installation fee for now (according to the girl I talked to anyway)
- Installation takes around 8 hours
- Service is free till 1st July
- If you have Streamyx contract you can only cancel after June (since its free till July)
- No Fair Usage Policy YET but it's in the works
- You have to pick a new phone number for the VOIP service
- VOIP has free calls between TM landlines
- First install date in TTDI exchange area is 29th March and beyond

the list of exchange names alone is insufficient for you to determine whether you're in the coverage area. you need to match your phone number's first 4 digits to that of the particular exchange serving you and then refer to the HSBB roll-out plan.
*
So in that case, they say Q4 selayang will be covered, trying to say not whole selayang will be covered ?

Yeah September thumbup.gif I see this 'lateness' as an advantage, FUP will be announced somewhere ebfore that and that will greatly help me in deciding whether to use or not  brows.gif

Anyway, I just lold at those who believe changing the government will ensure totally different environment.
*
Yeah its a good thing, we can at least have a chance to hear others review about the service before jumping the gun. RM150 per month for broadband is something i consider really "serious".

Hopefully "kopitiam's" in bangsar or TTDI will apply for unifi and give free wifi service so we can test, hehe.

anyone ever think of the consequences of terminating the HSBB rather still being hyped by this useless, uninnovative innovation?

you still can use the fon kah?

but who cares... we still got cellular, rite?
*
Ya remove the VOIP thingy and reduce the price, we dun want all the extras, give us pure broadband power. All the juice u can take out, we want for downloading, you-tubeing, torrenting etc
