Is HSBB for the elites and cronies?
Streamyx for the pariah?

in the demo, it shows full HD Youtube finished streaming before finished playback

in streamyx 1Mbps, "downloading" 360p youtube video takes at least 15 minutes, downloading Apple QuickTime 720p movie trailers around 100MB is running at not more than 20kB/sec

well at least with the HSBB launch we will be out of the 1MB era, our neighboring countries are now talking of 24mbps minimum, and we are still going like "wow" for a 1MB connections from all kind of telco's to ISP, enough of taking us for a ride, we want the real thing.

the real thing is still far yet

In case I was not clear, in my example, the base package price is RM90.You have to pay that minimum.  Each additional 50Gb you want, you pay RM30 on top of the base price. So there is no RM30 package.

Reasons for doing this way could be:

1. they are serious about increasing broadband usage in the country.
2. they want fair usage for all users
3. they want to curb online piracy
4. they want to ensure less network congestion
5. they can earn more from heavier users (ie pay per usage method) and hopefully improve their network or international link capacity. As time passes, they can even consider increasing the quoatas depending on how much capacity they have

hello.. if you not already know

RM90 for 60GB is just tooooo good to be true, they will go bankrupt if they charge at this tariff, consider the amount they spent in deploying FTTH

RM88 is the normal price for 1Mbps Streamyx, now you want RM90 for this Fiber connection? not in Malaysia bro...

nope I don't think Streamyx pricing will drop in short time
if Streamyx price is not dropping, then HSBB will remain expensive for some time

I even suspect they taken most of the international BW to cater for the HSBB, leaving Streamyx users craving like crazy while streaming youtube and other video streaming sites

I just want the explanation on recent slowdown on Youtube streaming and other video sharing sites.. using Streamyx 1Mbps

IS THAT BECAUSE THEY STOLE THE BANDWIDTH AND DEDICATE TO HSBB?

even more annoying is, they can't even provide stable Streamyx international bandwidth, I guess HSBB will remain in our 1Malaysia SuperLAN.. that's it..

"home networking" across 1Malaysia

i think most of y'all got it wrong

when capped, it doesnt mean that they block your connection

they just REDUCE the international speed for your ip...

reduce doesnt mean that you cant download at all...you can still still do p2p, only the international speed will be throttle down...i've been told that they will reduce around 512kbps...

local doesnt affect cap limit...
*
sooner or later, it doesn't make a difference

international BW is always being capped regardless we realize or not

to TM bashers;

please stop...u'all not contributing a single cent in this thread...

ok, TM sucks...so whats your solution...???

does ranting can solve the problems...???

i see many forumers ranting bout P1 in their official thread...but did they progress...??

NO

so how would you think by bashing TM here in this thread, with the services that still not proven success or fail yet, will help TM or Malaysia to progress...???
please, explain to us....
*
its not blindly bashing, many of us just voice out our opinions, based on our current experience on Streamyx services

if we can't even be allowed to complain, then what's the use of this subsection, to praise Najib on implementing his 1Malaysia into HSBB?

and I have voiced out dissatisfaction on the super slow Youtube and video streaming in this thread, but it seems nobody willing to take note, I can't have high hopes on HSBB if they can't even provide decent services on Streamyx level. That TM Staff please explain on the recent slowdown on video streaming sites

to all others, what makes you think that HSBB will be a success
