What would they do if we go over the cap limit? I'm very disappointed with the cap.

QUOTE(Jinx @ Mar 25 2010, 05:26 PM) No doubt about with an increase of speed comes greater used of bandwidth, +1 to your suggestion. At least offer a different packages to those that want a bigger cap.but with the current package offered by TM, there is no reason for us to upgrade, other than blazing speed of course (don't quote me on this) atleast give us an option to increase our bandwidth? And I 'lol'ed at those saying it will be cheap. Right on queue they offer the 10mbps 40bucks more than the current 4mbps price. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Mar 25 2010, 05:42 PM) I'm not sure about the details, and I may be wrong here, but isn't speed over copper depends a lot on the distance from a home to the exchange(or something)? The longer from the exchange thing, the harder it is to achieve good speed. While fibre can cover more distances. |

People shouldn't be expecting much since 4mbps was going for RM160. 10mbps they offer at 199, and 20mbps for 250.. it was expected the price to hover around 200.. only those kiddos were expecting price to be cheap(below 100).

QUOTE(rushmode @ Mar 25 2010, 06:02 PM) i was hoping 150 max for 20mbps.. its a fair price because they have the monopoly. they just greedy basterds I was hoping the same price for the 10mbps package. But alas, we put too much hope on TM. Quite expensive IMO, although I was expecting around that anyway. But they did just that. Hopefully the price will be reduced further over the years. What I'm unhappy over is the cap.. although 90gb is manageable I guess. Hopefully they would offer different packages to those that need more.. just top up a bit monthly. That would be fair. But life is never fair.. Anyway how does the cap work? If we reached the limit, what would happen? And does it impact the IPTV as well? |

QUOTE(narf03 @ Mar 25 2010, 06:10 PM) we are talking about cap, in 1mb line u have no cap, if you uses 24/7 with 1mb line, u can download 324GB per month(if speed is 100%) and if using that 5mb line, and 100% speed, in 26.67 hours, you reached the cap. Bandwidth isn't free. It was wrong for them to offer us 'unlimited' packages in the first place since obviously they couldn't cope with the demands. Capping was inevitable. Just need it to be fair. And IMO, they just need to lift the cap a bit more. 2/3/4GB a day.. that's crap. 5gb/day for the 5mbps package would have been far more reasonable, IMO. |

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 25 2010, 06:11 PM) that's what most of us have decided to do Thakns. How much would they charge per GB? Expensive I bet.Added on March 25, 2010, 6:12 pm This was answered If you break your cap, you get throttled to 1mbps (not too bad). If you want full speed, you can request and they charge you per GB. IPTV is not included in the cap, its on its own separate line. |

QUOTE(satoshi.mifune @ Mar 25 2010, 06:25 PM) even if it's cheap most people will tend to overspend and be shocked when the bill comes in. For TM this is easy money If we need more, just call them up saying we need another 10gb, and they set it at that. Once reached, throttle the line. QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Mar 25 2010, 06:27 PM) I hope so. If not they truly are blood suckers. |
