QUOTE(cannavaro @ Mar 24 2010, 10:29 PM) If that's true I'll get 3 separate UNIFI accounts. Yes for students. They quickly went through it to say tmnut had done their part to reduce pricing. But then what about the mainstream hsbb user pricing where it really matters??? Only tomorrow can answer this He was talking about the netbook package for students. |

Many people are believing this rumor because ....
1. in last nights speech regarding price drop, najib only mentioned about student prices drop, but nothing in regards to regular home subscriber prices. So obviously if he didn't mention about it, then the price probably not gonna drop isn't it ? He kinda glossed over the pricing so fast as well |

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Mar 25 2010, 09:27 AM) Not really their ISPs monitoring but SG people who have sort of purchased a license to 'prosecute' other SGers for downloading licensed contracts. As long as they stick to private trackers (in the case of BT) or use VPN services nothing will happen A colleague of mine said that tmnut can also monitor what you are downloading |

In regard to the pricing mentioned by najib yesterday, please read this article
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...1577&sec=nation That was the only price reduction mentioned ;_; This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 09:43 AM |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Mar 25 2010, 10:30 AM) I don't think a lot of people here is willing to fork out or can fork out RM250 for an internet line. With the rising cost of living, super inflation, which is not matched with proper salary adjustment. Life is getting harder in Malaysia. IMO, The 5Mbps should be around RM70++ like the current 1Mbps pricing, with the upper range package not exceeding RM150. So much for 'good news' as claimed by Bijan. i agree as well but what can we do except vote out those liars and conmen. price reduction my azz This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 10:36 AM |

QUOTE(SHOfrE3zE @ Mar 25 2010, 10:38 AM) well, dream all u want coz that is impossible to be implemented. do u think the cost for implementing HSBB is just rm40? be reasonable. Rm70 ish for 5mb i don't see whats wrong with that u want premium service, u pay with premium price. if u can't affort it well that's too bad. u still got streamyx right? so stop dreaming! My friend in singapore told me last time they upgraded the speed they give to the current users free upgrade to be on par with international pricing standard Tmnut has been milking us since merdeka day till now ;_; that is where their capital for the hsbb came from, they don't need to milk us some more to cover their cost to setup hsbb right now. Maybe if they stop spending money on stupid deals like that manchester united sponsorship, or hiring artists for pointless concerts, maybe they can use that to reduce our pricing instead ;_: And if they can't do that, open the market up to the competitor, see if tmnut can act like they do now |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Mar 25 2010, 10:46 AM) This is the kinda thinking that leds Malaysian to be sucks like sacrificial goats for all the blood by UMNO for 50 years. You know what the saddest part is? All that extra money the government say they need ends up into projects like that PKFZ scandal and is pocketed by hotshot politicians and well connected cronies. and our joke of an anti corruption force looks the other way when their bosses are involved Friend, it's time to change ur thinking. Don't just bend over and get screw like a whore!!! Streamyx is already overpriced for what it is. We, the rakyat has to sponsor the gov for everything, and they in turn, suck all our money to feed their cronies to keep them in power. Here's a nice e-mail i received yesterday: ============================================ What do I get for paying toll every day?     This is on top of the road tax that we pay.   Now I have to pay an extra RM50 for each credit card. For what?     Some cards still carry the yearly fees payable to the provider.   Extra GST (goods and services tax). Again, how does that benefit me?     So the money you earned is tax and the money you spend is also tax.     How do you like that???   Look at the long list of 11 items.   I have to pay for security guards because the police are hopeless.   I have to install filters because the water supply is dirty.   I have to watch satellite tv because the government broadcasts crap.   Many kids have to go for tuition or to private schools because the      government schools are bad.   We have to pay IPPs (independent power providers) because the government      cannot provide consistent electricity.   We have to pay Indah Water to clean up the sewers.   We have to pay tax on foreign cars because Mahathir wants to keep his      dying local car industry alive.   Most have to drive because the government cannot provide good public      transport.   We have to pay to sustain the government's affirmative action policies.   We have to pay for private health care because the public hospitals are      crowded .   Don't forget, the monthly salary that we earned will be taxed.   All in all, we have to pay a PREMIUM to stay in this country! Pay, Pay and     Pay 1Malaysia Boleh!!! - ========================================================= Seriously, asking for RM70+ for a 5Mbps is UNREASONABLE??? QUOTE(Instant_noodle @ Mar 25 2010, 11:01 AM) yeah, grow up dude... they are not lembab, but rather incompetence... I blame their management rather then their regular staff .... at the end of the day its the managements fault and responsibility for training their staff to ensure a good customer service and satisfaction. The staff only operate and do as their told to.why would tey be hiring a bunch of untrained receptionist to shield them up if they are competence but lembab? When neither is accomplished, obviously someone at the top is either ignorant or not doing their job Anyway i wouldn't mind 30% discount .... got any job opening This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 11:06 AM |

![]() I don't think matrix is saying we shouldn't pay a premium for a premium service ( say 20 mb for their highest package ), however that we are already paying a premium ontop of a premium for a broadband speed that is cheaper compared to other countries. consider as well the income of most malaysians is not that much to begin with ps: the unify website now says out of service This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 11:17 AM |

QUOTE(g5sim @ Mar 25 2010, 11:36 AM) not true, the Pahang whats the name actually proposed a plan to install HSBB with no help from gomen but gomen rejected that proposal and decided to spend billions of rakyats money to assist TM on this project. it's called Jalenas. Actually i think the pm approved the building of it for the Kuantan area only so far. This HSBB project was supposed to allow others to offer services via the fiber optic. Digi or Maxis for example can offer internet services via the HSBB project. HSBB was a closed tender bid offered to tmnut. It was never offered to anyone else in an open bid. So how are we to blame other isps or lack off, when the MAIN CAUSE is because of our government not allowing any to compete with tmnut ??? |

QUOTE(smatdesa @ Mar 25 2010, 11:37 AM) DOn't know why people always compare to singapore. If you want to compare to singapore, let our broadband provider focus solely on Klang Valley ONLY. And yes, if they can focus only on that distrcit/area and disregards the other parts of Malaysia, then yes, we can be competitive to Singapore within a year. elaborate more what you mean by focus solely on one area only ( e.g. like klang valley for hsbb right now ) ? how will that reduce prices to be competitive and on par with international standards, when the fact of the matter is there is only 1 viable isp in malaysia ;_; with little to no reason for lowering their pricing.more competitors = lower price no competitor = monopoly This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Mar 25 2010, 11:49 AM |
