Just bought a sub-sale.

Previous owner has owe RM624 to indah water. He agree to pay too.

But the things is if i change ownership to myself means i have to pay in future,
which im dunwan to pay (or which i not suppose to pay).

If i dont apply change ownership, the bill still stick to previous owner name, which indah water only sue this people.

What do you all think? because heard damn many ppl said, even lawyer told me noneed to pay them.

the previous owner should have settled it before the property transaction complete; and in fact, mine have paid in advance....and we apportion the payment, and now it is my responsibility to change the name.....i will let you know how, after i am done with it - cos currently i am so busy, probably do it next month

There should be a clause in the S&P that seller has to settle all utilities and IWK bills.
As to change name, IWK only need photocopy of the S&P. I did mine last month.

Your lawyer should make sure all the bills such as electricity, water, indah water have been fully paid before releasing the final balance. Name transfer is very simple, i just fax them my S&P and they changed it in 3 days time.

Don't think you're right, they might send warning letter to the old owner, but the S&P proves that you're the new owner, so in the end it will be your debt.

hey there, to do the change of ownership:

1. Call 03-2080 3130 or 1800 88 3499
2. Tell them you want to change ownership
3. Give them the account no.
4. They will ask you to fax your s&p to 03 2095 6002
5. Attention your fax to the report no. given to you
6. Call them after one hour to check if they have received the fax
7. The change of ownership will take 3 working days

smile.gif hope it helps

Totally agree with Kikco. The previous owner can also change name himself by bringing the S&P to IWK.

Anyway, you are still liable.

is like that, our gov. at first so good.. provide electricity, water, sewerage, medical, etc to us....

and then gov. privatized it like tnb,syabas,iwk.. or might even privatized gov. hospital in future.

and after privatized, they provide good service to rakyat in past year back....

now, for example tnb, every year earn multi-billion ringgit but electricity rate will increase soon also.

Wat's the rationale of privatized? to earn more money or to provide good service to rakyat?

same thing might happen to iwk, alam flora, etc also... might keep increase as well.

BUT I WILL STILL PAY IWK NOW AS I CANT AFFORD TO AGAINST IT.
