QUOTE(anfieldude @ Apr 16 2010, 04:02 PM) yes, that would be ideal. Reassure people that the Malaysian sets are fine and if any rising blacks occur, customer can get a replacement.Being a big company and well established in Malaysia, Panasonic should come out with a press release to ease the worry faced by many prospective Panasonic buyers. |

QUOTE(PoorMan @ Apr 16 2010, 07:24 PM) @jitbeng, many thanks for the initiative. Good petition email. What do we do if we spend our hard earned money only to realise several months later, problems occur?@thena123, I understand that Panasonic has a class action against it in the US on the rising black issue. No more public statements on the issue until the case is over. Added on April 16, 2010, 11:46 pm QUOTE(PoorMan @ Apr 16 2010, 07:24 PM) @jitbeng, many thanks for the initiative. Good petition email. QUOTE(PoorMan @ Apr 17 2010, 01:48 AM) If that is your main concern, then the only advice I can give you is to steer clear of Panasonic plasma TVs for the time being until more verifications can be obtained. whatever said, most likely and unfortunately I will buy Panasonic as it is cheap. Where nowadays can get 42 inch for RM2099 (now 2299)?I don't think Panasonic is going to shoot itself further in the foot by issuing more statements that can be harmful to its sales ("it is by design" Personally, I feel the rising black problem is more of perception and expectations. I don't remember if they ever used "infinity black" as a marketing tagline in Malaysia? Just use few years then throw in bin lah. |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ May 14 2010, 02:42 PM) These are the indicative pricing that I was told today. Very cheap. Where to get the RM2050 with 2 year warranty from?TH-P42X28 - RM2350 (5yr warranty) / RM2050 (2yr warranty) TH-P50X28 - RM3900 (5yr warranty)/ RM3600 (2yr warranty) TH-P50U28 + BD45 - RM4400 (intro price, limited units) (2yr warranty) / RM4700 (5yr warranty) [after intro units are gone RRP is RM5299 + BD45]. The list price for the BD45 is supposed to be RM800. Pls don't PM me and ask where to get these. I was told that these were prices u can get. Check around the usual suspects. I believe u can knock off further RM50 - 200 depending on which one. Both 50in units are in stock this weekend. I don't have pricing on the V series yet. |

can the moderator pin a topic where we can buy the chepest Panasonic or who is doing the best deal currently. It makes it easier for forummers to get a good deal.
At least we know what is the current going price or the best package offered currently |

Where to get thse prices? Which shop? Don't simply post without telling people where to buy. Why do you say "no more guessing"? Now people are guessing more ie asking where to buy with your quoted prices. QUOTE(johnshir1 @ May 20 2010, 05:27 PM) No more guessing! Latest news: P46U20 - RM3,300 (availability - didn't hear anything) P50U20 - RM4,200 (should be available in certain shops only) url reference - http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/asia2010/pr...lasma_spec.html (for yr reading only and may not be the same spec) P42V20 - RM4,400 - RM4,600 (availability - maybe next month) P50V20 - RM5,800 (available next week) url reference - http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/asia2010/pr...lasma_spec.html (for yr reading only and may not be the same spec) Above prices / availability are what i have heard / gathered and may be the same pricing as quoted above or slightly higher as it depends on your bargaining power / negotiation skills. NO other sizes except for those mentioned above NO free gifts (that's a good comparison across the board) Prices will differ once you ask for HDMI cable / BD player DMR-BD45 - RM940 - RM999 SC-BT230 - RM1,800 - RM2,000 Wall Bracket plus installation - RM350 (cartel pricing) |

saw today at HN, the 42 inch Panasonic LCD, VIERA TH-L42U29K, Full HD, at RM2499.
Quality to me, looks the same as the 42V Plasma. Blacks look like the 42V. Why pay double for a 42V? |

QUOTE(putih @ Aug 20 2010, 05:59 AM) You are lucky if you see the black levels of U and V are the same. For most of us, V is much more superior. Save your money and buy the U to be honest yes, V is much better. I mean to say, it is far better than the plasmas U and X. But at 2499, so cheap lah for full HD. Somemore, not reflective at all. The U and X are like mirrors. |

Last I asked (shop nearby housing area), the sales guy quoted 3.6 for 42" V or 50" U. Didn't bargain, merely casual asking. The new VT at 13.5k, since I was curious too. you sure 42V for RM3600? |

QUOTE(PlasmaCrazy @ Oct 2 2010, 10:31 AM) I am just back from Kiasuland and the major dealers there HN & BD do not carry 50X20K at all. They claim that Panny have not launch the model yet. Maybe it is marketing strategy to sell only cheaper model to poor Malaysians. In this case no way our local dealers get 50X20K from down under dealers. Where did you find the 42V20 selling for SG1499? Does that include GST or not?Anybody knows why our TV prices are higher than our neighour? Tempted to buy one from there and carry over causeway. You say warranty still valid in Bolehland, right? I wonder have to pay tax? FYI, I check and found 42V20 selling 1,499 in Kiasu dollar. That is more than RM 1k cheaper than Malaysia. Also, what about the 50V20? HOw much is that? If it is RM1000 savings, I a driving up to Singapore. But you maybe taxed for the plasma. |
