Wait a few more months, the segmentation lines will get blur. Go to a chinaman shop and he will give a V50 to you for less than RM5000.
One can never run from the principles and forces of demand and suppy.
Who would have ever thought one could get a good 42 inch Panasonic plasma for RM2099 just a few years ago? My first non Full HD 42 inch was nearly RM10,000.
Very true about the Panny pricing, and that is IMHO why the older Panny entry level sets from the 10G (60V) were much better built than todays entry level sets. The repercussions will be felt in 3-4yrs from now.
We are already hearing reports of idle luminance (black) levels increase on the newer sets. Who knows what other corners were cut to get there?
Panny sets used to have stellar processors before and used to SD very well, they don't now.
Panny sets also used to do deinterlacing very well, up till this year, this was a problem on all Panny sets.
The public needs to understand that with price cuts, something needs to give. There is no free lunch here.
While some of the price reductions are just purely down to manufacturing improvements, a lot of them are due to components cost cutting. These things will show up one day.
A famous Korean brand that is known for reliability problems is the same, their stuff are just not built to the qualities that some of the other manufacturers build to.
Heck, even the renowned Japanese are seeing QC problems these days, they are all related to cost reduction activities.
