I think it shd be the VT. The V might be different based on observations in the UK.

Floating black is when in dark scenes, u suddenly feel like someone turned up brightness control one notch. I am not sure if ur set is effected by it, it seems more prevalent in the latest series.

Rising blacks is the design that Panny made on the voltages that increases black levels with time. What this means is that ur black levels when u bought them were better then when the set ages.

It is known that Panny has been doing it since 10G but in the 12G they made the voltage changes too drastic within the 1st 1000hrs that caused people to notice it.

It is possible that for the older gens the rise was gradual.

My opinion is if u r happy with ur set and do not see black level degradation, drop the matter and enjoy ur set.

Tq for the explanation. Luckily my old Panny don't show such problem......black hair is still black hair, didn't turn gray! tongue.gif

I am happy with my 50" plasma but lately itchy to 'up-grade' to a 65" plasma......according to my Panny friend got 65" for sale at about Rm22K V series. hmm.gif Don't know if it is the 3D type or not.

Oh yes also got 85" set but very very sexpensive!

Saw a unit of Pana VIERA TH-P42G10K (i think is display unit)with all the plastic wrapper still intact selling for Rm3999. It states the original price somthing like RM6000.

Is it worth to buy? Pana site state it as neo-pdp display.

yeah...G series is worth to be grabbed at that price...last 4 month I checked it at Harvey Norman, the price is rm4699...it is neo-pdp display with better black level compare to S series...

you can check the hours that've been used...if below that 1000 hours, then it should be okay... rclxms.gif

You should contact forumer moon* who has just bought a 42G10 recently. Also listen to his display unit story.

His post #299 on this thread.

Try asking a forumer iamsobloodysick if he can quote you the unit minus all the freebies.
