QUOTE(kayly @ Apr 28 2010, 03:53 PM)
hey jitbeng,

many thanks for the guidance on how to check up the hour of viewing on our plasma....as for me, after 100days of ownership my plasma p42s10k, it showed that my time viewing it was 822 hours and 30 minutes with count 330 times...considering i got this plasma more than 3 months ago which around 100 days, it means i power on my plasma around 8 hours per day with 3 time on it each day...i thought watch it more than that since i'm working from home...

up till now, i'm still enjoying my plasma as it delivered superb PQ and the speaker is decent enough to produce good sound as well...there's no problem at all on my unit....truly satisfied...

Good for you & enjoy it to the fullest. Don't look back.

Thanks

I read from somewhere (I think it was AVForum) that the S20K in reality uses the same panel as G10K.

Lemme see if I can find the source again.

Edit: Found it! Youtube. Just listen to the UK Plasma Product Manager:

Remembered I wrote to Panasonic appealing to bring in the replacement model for P42S10K in my previous post no. 265.

Well I got a reply from them. But I have promised them not to post it here because they don't allowed it & it's against their company policy.

There will not be a replacement model for the P42S10K for Asia unlike in USA where the P42S1 was replaced by the P42S2 & best of all, the S2 is cheaper.

Therefore for 2010 the only FullHD 42" Plasma TV will be the V20K with advanced features like the NeoPDP panel etc. Price around RM5K?

The P50U20K is the replacement for the P50S10K & should be around the same price.

Look like Panasonic is not replacing all the models & the replacements is also not cheaper. Maybe Panasonic is preparing the consumers for the 3D model which is expensive now for some consumers if not most of them. Have to wait a couple of years for price to drop.

Thanks

Hey moon...I'm no expert but I don't think those black borders that you refer to can be changed from black to brighter colours or izzit
to another colour. Where was this mentioned?

Best if someone who have some expertise or have done so before can provide you an advise.

If this is the case, then there may be a logical explanation as to why the suggestion is as such. Probably to avoid the IR or could be a burn-in / run-in process
for new plasma panels. This is just my take on your posting.

The top bottom bars (2.39:1 ratio) colours cannot be changed since it is embedded in the content.

The side bars (4:3) can be changed on some plasmas but not the Pannys.

I don't think can change.

Better zoom in to avoid IR/BurnIn during breaking period.

But since I already Break-In (about 1,300hrs), no problem for me. Off & on use the Zoom. But when zoom the PQ will degrade slightly.

Thanks
