just got our replacement V20K setup Disabled '24p Smooth Film' and the judder is gone. we think the judder on our previous model was due to '24p Smooth Film' being enabled. thanks to anfieldude for sharing how to bring up this '24p Smooth Film' menu. |

QUOTE(blade63 @ Aug 16 2010, 10:48 AM) When you have 1080p/24Hz source input in HDMI e.g from Blu-ray movie playback from PS3 or BD Player, you should be able to see the 24p smooth film option in the setup menu - which you can enable or disable it. Please correct me if I'm wrong again This post has been edited by SteadyPana: Aug 16 2010, 05:09 PM |

question to those G11/G12 panel V series owner...
do you found out any of the dark level degrade after 1500hours? if you do notice, how bad was it compared to when you got it new? the 65" looks tempting with current price...but worried about the black level... |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Aug 15 2010, 11:55 PM) never argue with a ISF certified calibrator To be fair neither am I, but i am working on it. The v series has much better black levels than the c6500. Also the c6500 has undefeatable sharpness even when turned all the way down. Colour accuracy the v series has the edge but both are very close. The 50Hz issue on the v series is a problem.what i would like to know is how good is 50v compare to samsung C6500? anfieldude? |

Hi all,
I've just ordered P50v20k. Would like to ask all your opinions on what is the best 2.0/2.1 speaker i should get to connect to the tv optical output? another question is, could i control the speaker from the tv volume control? i prefer a simple setup so hopefully no need to but any amp or receiver. Thanks newbie |

An update on the V20 defects.
Yesterday evening, Panasonic sent 2 engineers to check out the set with me. Very friendly guys and we sat down for nearly 2 hrs to check out several scenarios. First we tried out Byond and my some of my BDs, the motion defects were clearly there. Then they brought out their BD which show boat races and NZ's Iron Men. Truthfully, their BD show great picutre quality and no motion defects or judder at all. So after some friendly discussion, it would appear that the problem lies with the sources. As to my question on why they don't appear on my old LG 42-inch, they explained that a full HD 1080p will show up more defects that are usually not noticeable in a 720p set, as there are 50% more pixels in a 1080p set. For a fairer comparison, they said it should be a 1080p vs another 1080p set. Well, since I don't have another 1080p set, we could not not do such comparison. I higlighted to them the many forum discussions going on. They said that there are bound to be many such complains as there many cable TV sources overseas as compared to only Astro here. So if we were to have more cable Tv souces here, there will be more complains. Well, with this logical explanation, I can only accept that the motion defects are not with the V20 unless someone else can come up with a better explanation or worse experience. Also, Panasonic received only 1 such complain ie. me. All in all, the Panasonic guys were professional in dealing with the motion defects. |

All in all, the Panasonic guys were professional in dealing with the motion defects. In Audio / video, what is nice to someone may not be necessary the same to everyone. However, the best wine is still the wine that you like best; irrespective of price. |

QUOTE(97th Mobile @ Aug 17 2010, 01:39 AM) Hi all, You could get a panasonic home theater set with arc (audio return channel). By using the same brand (with HDMI connection), u will be able to use either remote of tv or home theater to control volume or change channel (viera link). Also ur tv supports ARC so when u connect with a home theater with ARC, there will less cable at the back as the audio is sent through hdmi to the home theater from the tv when watching astro or tv channels (no audio cable required)I've just ordered P50v20k. Would like to ask all your opinions on what is the best 2.0/2.1 speaker i should get to connect to the tv optical output? another question is, could i control the speaker from the tv volume control? i prefer a simple setup so hopefully no need to but any amp or receiver. Thanks newbie It will good to get a blu-ray home theater as u can enjoy more ur full HD plasma. As for me, i am using Panasonic P50U20K plasma with SC-BT735 (Panasonic blu-ray home theater) and astro beyond. Connection via HDMI (2 cables only at the back) |
