when you work hard for your money and have self integrity, you will appreciate the things you purchase. Only when you sweat, you will know the value of money.

I bet if someone molest your wife in the office, you will also say rileks lah and not sue the company.

Stop using stupid comparison. It has no connection at all with wife and TV. You purchase your TV but did you purchase your wife? Some people are just pure dumb when they're trying to relate something with others.

I have been following the comments in this thread as I have recently purchased a Panny set and also have approached sifu AD for advice on calibration.

Whilst I appreciate your comments on how to get the best out of our hard earned money, your reference to "VD" and "someone molest your wife" in your analogies lately could have exceeded the limits of good conduct and mutual respect in this forum.

My 2 cents.

Considering the floating black issues, my guess is that Panasonic Malaysia will ignore your complains as they will vacuum under the carpet unless we all complain in big numbers or just boycot their plasma products. It is better if anybody have friends in the PRESS to bring forward this issues to them as this will be public knowledge and awareness then Panasonic Malaysia will definitly issue a statements, Just my thoughts...cheers

PRESS only interested in politic..
same go to the newspaper reader..
who want to know about what panasonic product problem had?it not going to affect their daily life

Everybody should stop hitting on this matter and get on with the true spirit of this thread.

Let's not waste valuable space and spamming and get on with something productive that's relevant.

apologies if it was offensive. No malice meant. What was meant was that buyer should have self pride and integrity to the extent that he demands proper goods and services that fit to the description during sale.

Again, apologise if it was offensive.

I love Mai Kai Tan for his frankness and this forum is great with people like him around i.e. treat forummers as friends i.e. if offensive, don't worry, say sorry.

Learnt today that I have to make an order for my 50V20 (RM6200) with no extras. Waiting period - 2 months ! That is the problem we face in Sarawak.

Appreciate your views on whether I should get a BD45 together with 50V20 or get a Dune player. Can BD45 play movie from pendrive ? Assuming it is of the right format for the player.

The discussion on the infinite black thing is casting some doubt on whether I should get this 50V20. Heard so much good things about it and now this. Maybe for normal viewers like me, I would not notice it ?

If BD45 is a bundle item i.e. FOC with TV, grab it. BD45 is a basic but excellent Bluray player; sorry no thumbdrive. May not need one if you have HDD player.
I have been using BD45 for more than a month and all Uncle Ho's BD/DVD9/DVD disks can go through with flying colors. Alredi cold stored my old DVD player.
If you have only one TV to look at everyday, your eyes will attune to it and you'll love it day after day; just like the woman you love...................

As per vincentboleh, if BD45 bundled with TV without extra cost, then why not?

But if paying extra, then get the Dune. It's much more versatile.

Regarding the rising blacks, do you have a dedicated area for HT with the appropriate low lighting and audio setup? Or is it like me ... the family living room with standard (bright) lights and multiple kids fighting over the TV mostly ... but yet sometimes be self-indulgent to enjoy a good movie at home and at an affordable reasonable price once in a while? laugh.gif

Vincentboleh & Poorman,

Many thanks for your feedback.

TV in the living room, like most family. My wish later when I retire is to build a HT like a real cinema but smaller, of course. Had even looked up some design on the web ! Ha.

We're all here to learn and share opinions.

To me, HDTVs are more like PCs nowadays. Every year got new tech and improvements over previous models (although people may debate this). This is unlike the CRT tech where it has reached the peak (29" for how many years?) and you can keep the CRT TV for more than 10 years without being too severely disadvantaged.

Just buy the model that fits your current requirement and budget. Use it for 3-5 years and then switch to the latest model with even more improvements.

Sure, it's more expensive than 29" CRT TV currently but later, you may be able to buy > 65" at the same price?!

I totally agree with u.........what I pay last time for my ancient Panny 50Th-Py700 I can get a new Panny 65" today sad.gif

He! He! That is also one reason why I am try to find 'fault' like raising & floating black in it.............ie trying to find a reason to up-grade to a 65". tongue.gif

But so far my peasant eye see no fault with it PQ still very good, 'black' hair remain 'black'. smile.gif

You have to wait for 2 months for 50V20k is still consider OK, I waited for mine 42V20K for 4.5 months. Got it recently which sent in by courier service and further only 3 units at that shipment. I suggest you should get a HD FTA receiver, you will enjoy watching it.

How about the warranty programs? I believe we have 3 choices as far as i know:
1) Warranty coverage by the shop/seller.
2) Warranty by the manufacturer
3) Insurance

Anyone has any idea the estimated prices for the above 3 on Panny 42 or 50" V20? Any what are the major differences?
