Just a quick reply to this, I noted that ppl have quoted from Wiki with links to Nikolai Tesla. And as I remember from Astro, he had many stumbles, not necessarily because his idea of wireless energy was not efficient enough, or not the best solution, but simply because he was unlucky, and didn't live long enough to fulfill his dreams.(yes, at present it isn't good, but who knows how it would have developed if Nikolai had his way)
If it wasn't because of that guy, we'd all probably still be using Edison's DC for our computers.
