Hi all sifus...
CULV : 1) Acer Aspire Timeline 4810TZ, 2) Asus UL80Vt, 3) Dell Inspiron 14z
Value : 1) Asus K40Ie, 2) Lenovo Valueline G455, 3) Compaq CQ41-208AU
For performance how is "CULV" compare to "Value"?
Which has better graphics performance?
Which is more value for money?
Thanks.

This really help me alot... Could we add some simple ranking on this first post... e.g.
For CPU: i7 > i5 > i3 ... quite obvious... and for AMD and older CPU too.
For GPU: GT320M > ATi5470 > etc. smile.gif

Compared with K40Ie, a slight win for L510 nod.gif...i think for that price better you go for L510 as the GPU is better than K40Ie nod.gif...

Thanks for the advice. The windows experience index shows L510 slightly higher too... is the windows experience index "real"? smile.gif

Warranty & Aftersales Service = Dell Vostro 1088
Spec = Toshiba L510
GPU-Wise = Toshiba L510
HDD = Dell Vostro 1088
Price = Dell > Toshiba

And overall view, better go for Toshiba L510 with a stronger GPU than Vostro 1088...

Thanks. How good is Dell Warranty & Aftersales Service? smile.gif

Hi sifu-sifu... please give some ideas about these two...

Dell Inspiron 14R, i5 450M + ATi HD5470, Home Basic
RM2999 or less when upgraded to 2 years full warranty

Asus A42Jv, i5 450M + Nvidia GT335M
RM2999

I know 1 is laptop of the month but only got time to play game during weekend...

Maybe I should try Toshiba C640D-1004U... for my basic usage only... but cannot find enough info on them...

Thanks!!! smile.gif

Between these 2 specs,
P320 + ATi HD5470
P320 + ATi HD4250
are there a lot of performance different for normal day to day use?
How about photo editing?
If not much different then cheaper is better, right? smile.gif

QUOTE(miahahaha @ Jul 23 2010, 09:21 AM)
Between the 2, for a better gaming performance, P320 + HD5470 sure will beat P320 + HD4250 anytime nod.gif..but for normal usage, both can do pretty fine...Photo editing, usually relied a lot on CPU, which is P320 is considerably quite low in processing if you are thinking of doing any major photo editing...

This should be a better choice :

N830 + HD5470, this one sure will be smooth while doing photo editing icon_rolleyes.gif

*but if strictly have to choose between both, then the former one should be a better choice nod.gif
*
I am not into 3D games... more into simple usage... edit photo is around 5 minutes.
P320 + HD4250 enough to play star craft 2? smile.gif

QUOTE(linux11 @ Jul 23 2010, 11:23 AM)
P320 is dual core at 2.1 GHz, N830 is triple core at 2.1 GHz

Thus depends on the application's ability to take advantage of multi-core, or the background task load on the system, more core is usually better.

On single threaded application, I think the performance will be the same since both runs at 2.1GHz
*
Currently only very small numbers of application use multi-core, right?
Simple photo editing needs many core? smile.gif
