Malaysian buy SG REIT tax exempted?
if we buy MY REIT we are still subject to 10% tax, is that true?

thanks

Added on November 25, 2010, 7:54 amFor Atrium, from its website
1 of the 4 portfolios, Atrium Puchong shows
Lease Period: 8 years, expiring on 18 September 2010

means now Atrium Puchong has no tenants?

Added on November 25, 2010, 10:12 amwell i mistype my meaning in my last post, i mean how do i know if Atrium has secured a new contract with the current tenant, or new tenant, if not means the tenant can now move away anytime? that is a big change to Atrium if 1 of their 4 portfolio got empty.

thanks for the reply.
so the SG reit dividends income we do not need to declare in M form (personal tax)?

but the whole is encouraging us to invest in SG reit and not MY reit? since we will safe 10% tax
why MY govt. allows that?

i found the answers on the earlier posts.....

QUOTE
1. Dividend and capital gains are not taxable in Singapore.
2. Income received from out of Malaysia, if you are a Malaysian Resident are not taxable (income tax) as well, but you need to declare it

i would like to know which trading account Malaysians use to buy SG REIT?
I have an account with HwangDBS, i have asked them before, and they told me that i can buy stocks in Singapore.

I'm wondering how the
1) currency conversion calculation
2) in what form the dividend is paid? e-dividend direct to our malaysian bank? or foreign check (which i think not so good)

thanks in advance for sharing.

you refering to.. cross border trading right ? what happen if i have my own account in sg ?? that will reduce the brokers fee already right..

when you mentioned "no short terms play moreover contra " what do you mean/refer to ???

yeah, we got charged brokers fees twice
below is what I got from HwangDBS

Singapore brokerage fees 0.1% or min SGD12
Clearing fees 0.04%
Trading fees 0.0075%
Malaysia HDBS commission fees 0.8% or min RM40
Malaysia c/stamp MYR1 per MYR1,000 which is 0.1%
Also, we will lose some in the currency exchange

i already have some HEKTAR but not ATRIUM
currently queuing for ATRIUM at 1.02 (1.03 would have no problem to get them)

HEKTAR now, we can get them at 1.29

you would go for HEKTAR @ 1.29 (2.8s last div) or ATRIUM @ 1.03 (2.2s last div) for diversification purposes?

thanks

thanks
but in sunwayreit web page shows
Payment Date 14 Mar 2011 for 1 Oct 2010 - 31 Dec 2010
Payment Date 30 Dec 2010 for 20 May 20101 - 30 Sept 2010

and future financial result announcement
3rd Quarter ending 31 March 2011: 03 May 2011 after 1700
Notes:
Payment of distributions will be made within 2 months from the release of the financial results.

seems like Sunway REIT is distributing dividend quarterly?

thanks
seems not high as per current price of RM1.09
1.7/109*4=6.24% (annualised) only

but in general those who distribute dividend semi-anually should have higher % (annualised) ? as we can use the quarterly dividend to re-invest, thus compounding our intereset.

HEKTAR this Q dividend is quite low compare to its previous distribution, for my case (i include the brokerage fees as well) after tax, is less than 6.9% (annualized). previous Q was 7.6%

i got ARR back in May 2011, @0.95 sad.gif
thinking of buying @ 0.91 now......
but i also put my eyes on ETF counter 0820EA FBMKLCI-EA as im thinking not putting everything in REIT, and shares are too volatile and MF has higher fees than ETF....anyone here also invest in ETF?

we do not have ETF specific thread here, as there are too few ETF in malaysia.
