It's pouring rain on and off for the past 1-2 hours in Singapore, how is the park in the rain especially the normal tropical thunderstorms we have in the region?

Did you get your annual pass? The normal one or the super? Worth it?

Just to add, the flight fares on Jetstar and Tiger Airways are typically a lot cheaper than MAS (sorry string) or Air Asia. I could still get the cheap fare on Jetstar by just booking one week earlier, no such luck on AK or MH.

Total return trip per person on Jetstar/Tiger is typically RM140-150 if discounted which includes taxes.

Total ticket price for Aeroline bus which drops you right at Harborfront just one elevator away from Sentosa Express is RM180. The bus takes around 5 hours total but it's far more convenient for me since the bus terminal is so close to my house.

Unfortunately hotel rates on Resorts World sentosa is still far too expensive. They're charging something like S$500-600 per weekend night for a room at the Festive Hotel. That's frakking Mandarin Oriental or Ritz Carlton junior suite rates. Or you can stay at a 5-star hotel and have a taxi bring you around to the resort several times a day and still not reach those rates.

Or I could go for a dream car tour and still have money left over...

i'm worried of the water ride at the jurassic lost world.. guaranteed to get wet? well ur definition of 'fun' maybe is to get wet.. but i think majority won't want to get wet, if want then we go sunway lagoon or some kind of water park.. and as u said don't want to wear soggy clothes walking around the park tongue.gif

Actually you dry off quickly and obviously cool down while doing so. Wear sports sandals not shoes but I've done it with sneakers + socks as well. Personally I feel that this is the best way to cool down while in a theme park on a hot day.

Hmm, I'm planning on a family trip in June (weekdays, during M'sia school holidays). Thing is I'm not so keen on spending 3 or 4 grand just on accomodation in SG for the 8 of us, so will probably bunk in tune hotel JB.

Question then is to feeder bus over, or to drive over? Feeder bus probably cheaper, but it being school hols we'd waste a lot of time crossing the causeway, no? Driving over can go through Tuas checkpoint to save time, but then bleed on the parking. Hmmmmm.

Deo, alternatively why not stay at a cheaper hotel in Singapore? Taxi fares are relatively cheap here, it's not worth paying so much for Festive hotel. I'm sure taxi + cheap singapore hotel is more convenient than the feeder bus.

Was in Sentosa last night and the night before although I didn't go to USS. It seems like BSG won't be up until sometime in 2011 according to the media despite what the USS people are saying. I won't be the first to jump on the BSG ride when it opens too, let someone else be the guinea pig biggrin.gif

Was there on Tuesday. Wait times for Transformers was 80-120 minutes during the day and even at 830pm it was 50 minutes so I decided not to waste my time biggrin.gif

The rides were very good (Battlestar Galactica coasters, Revenge of the Mummy) and the shows were great. Waterworld was very similar to the one in California that I remember from years ago.

Food prices weren't so bad actually by theme park standards ($50-60 for a fast food meal for a family of 4), I thought the food court at Johor Premium Outlets was way more overpriced (RM11 for nasi lemak+chicken?!?!)

The crowd was really ok for a school holiday weekday, aside from the Canopy Flyer and the Transformers ride, none of the other attractions had more than 30 minutes of wait time.

Guys planning to go there on 28December,I have a quick Q here, where can I put my dslr when I go on the ride?or I can bring my dslr with me

For the wilder roller coasters lockers are available. You're not allowed to bring anything loose on the 3 major rides like any other theme park.

I still think staying in Johor makes sense, especially if you're going on a weekday.

I stayed in Thistle (starting at RM240) with a great breakfast, great view. There are paid shuttles from Thistle to USS but I drove instead. Thistle to USS via 2nd link including immigration/customs took 45 minutes on a weekday at 1030am. The causeway was congested like crazy from the cameras.

Seriously thinking about getting the annual pass.

Yep, I'm very tempted now but it's more than 5x the price of a single entry ticket for the basic annual pass. If I lived in Singapore then I would buy it without question biggrin.gif

Dear All,

Still considering a few options. As there are 7 of us, drive down from KL, stay in JB, take shuttle to USS using the package price of RM200 per person (food additional).
Another option is to stay in Sentosa for 3D2N, then probably have more time to spend at USS. The only issue is it costs more. But if they give you 2 days access maybe its worth it.
Any advice, pls?
*
Do you really need 2 days to do everything in USS? If the crowd is small eg. weekdays you can finish everything within a day and that includes pretty much all the rides and all the shows. If you really want to beat the crowd pay extra for the Express ticket or whatever they call it.

guys, RWS festive hotel worth the price?
*
I stayed in Festive hotel last year at the family room. Nice room, but it's a big very impersonal hotel. Not exactly my liking but it's very convenient obviously. It's probably one of the cheaper hotels in Sentosa too.

About your coaster question, USS has Battlestar Galactica which is one of the best roller coasters around particularly Cylon but it's been closed for 6 months already. Next best is the Mummy ride which isn't technically a coaster but lots of fun anyway.

it is convenient as it located near to USS and aquaria but not much on other attraction right?
*
It's in Sentosa, so it's close to everything in Sentosa obviously. Vivo City Mall is just 1-2 stations away on the monorail, everything else you either drive out or better still take the MRT.
