Hi,there! if say which is suitable for children i will only recommend wii games, it is suitable even whole family members.
most wii games aren't hardcore,here are some info of list i have for the wii game:
Paper Mario - Rpg/platformer game pretty fun.
Okami - inspired by twilight princess
Wario Land - Fun 2D platformer but with a lot of cool motion controls
Metroid Prime 3 - first person adventure..not so much a shooter more of an adventure game but in the first person
Scarface - really good game,very similar to Grand Theft Auto. This game doesnt feel flawed either like those other Gta copy cats.
Resident Evil 4 - third person survival shooter.still fun,really good graphics
Raving Rabbits - kind of like a mini game adventure,pretty funny alot of fun
Medal Of honor 2 - first person war shooter,lots of fun..up to 32 multiplayer online.
Call Of Duty World at war - another first person war shooter lots of fun too,online is great
Trauma Center - Operation simulation type game.good reviews havent played it though
World of Goo - Wiiware game 15 bucks i think
Bomberman - also a wiiware game, online modes up to 8 players online and 4 in normal mode...

those are all great games, you have some of the best, well not as violent though.
