QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 7 2010, 05:12 PM) rubberbanding, well fragnetics has done its part already...its definitely much better than what it was last week. btw, even EATW has slight lag...no idea why ppl say its smooth. the upcoming server patch this week and huge client patch to follow should probably fix more. |

Yeah forget about your KDR. Do whatever is necessary for the team. For instance, if a tank is kicking our ass I'd go engy and tracer it, which a lot of the times gets me killed cause the red trail it leaves it very obvious.

QUOTE(redbull_y2k @ Apr 9 2010, 04:40 PM) or engies who does not care about repairing a teammate's tank but go blast away with his gustav non-stop. This, a million times this. There are SO many engys running around that could be repairing. Also the other facepalm is when I tracer a tank and somehow I'm the only one shooting it with my rocket. W T F mate? |

No, you're supposed to form part of the assault. If you just stand still you'd get tracered and then die. You advance together with assault giving cover where you can. In an urban environment tanks move together with infantry; the infantry is also providing cover to the tank by watching out for man mobile antitank.

QUOTE Without tanks and infantry working together, problems can arise. During the Yom Kippur War, Israeli tanks operating alone in large numbers were decimated by Egyptian infantry with anti-tank guided missiles. When Israeli infantry and artillery were brought in to help the tanks, the tables were turned and the Egyptian units were suppressed with reduced losses to the Israeli troops. This is an extreme example but exemplifies what has been fairly thoroughly documented since the second World War: tanks and infantry work best by taking advantage of each other's strengths and combining to minimise the weaknesses. In many conflicts, it was usual to see infantry riding on the back of tanks, ready to jump off and provide support when necessary. Guys the ping you see on the scoreboard is a round trip measurement of the latency between you and the server. For a rough estimation of you real ping you have to divide at least by half. So if you have 130 you really have about 50-60ms. I don't remember the whole calculation.

Wow to those of you who think piracy is not such a big deal, I say get over your naivete! There are entire shops just selling pirated software, so definitely there is a lot of us out there pirating. I can say almost for a fact that 70% of the people I know pirate ALL their games.

Excuse me, have you ever heard of China, which happens to be most populous country in the world?
Added on April 12, 2010, 4:35 pmAnd if you want to talk about losses, please go and look up EA's quarterly results. And anyway, at the end of it a company is about the bottomline. They are not going to do anything out of sympathy. Sympathy has a minuscule effect on how much money they make. Why spend all the money on DRM? Look at Ubisoft, they are spending money on their DRM. And look at the reason why more and more games are developed for consoles instead of PC. Cause the platform is more closed and allows for less piracy. China's piracy rate is at 90%. That's fact. And you are 'sure'? That's not a fact, that's a feeling you have.
Secondly, 'we love it' is flawed. Plenty of critically acclaimed games didn't make their money back. Modern Warfare 2 on PC only sole a fraction of console sales. On the other hand it was pirated by millions. Plenty of devs over the years have shut down, Origin, Looking Glass, etc. Devs need to balance, yes, it's a juggling act that is force upon them by the people who pirate. And then what about SP games? And your people with money to build rigs defense is flawed, as they are not mutually inclusive, and anyway this is based on your 'feeling' and not fact, right? Don't get me wrong, I am not in support of DRM, I am just unhappy that due to piracy on my gaming platform of choice there is less and less games that are developed with the PC in mind. As evidenced by this very game, which tho awesome has a lot of problems that stem directly from it's console-heritage. The fact is this: If piracy was not a problem on PC, why are publishers choosing to publish on consoles? The number of PC players still far outnumber consoles. The facts are apparent just look up torrent statistics. |

I fly the blackhawk on Isla Innocentes often and even with armor perk a direct hit sends me into a death spiral.
