QUOTE(nexous @ May 25 2010, 08:17 PM)
This is one of the smelliest BS you'll read from time to time.
The solution is to sell by bandwidth, not speed. Why are ISPs selling unlimited packages like Streamyx's?
Because DAMN, 90% of subscribers will not use even their expected alloted bandwidth.

ISPs like TM is just plain dishonest. They throttle heavy users, do they refund lighter users? Do they roll-over unused bandwidth?
The new Unifi packages are the same BS. Will the average user consume 60 GB of data per month? No. Not even a quarter. Yet that's the entry level package. The idea is simple, most users won't really use their alloted bandwidth, so we'll pretend that we have that much bandwidth, knowing that it won't be consumed.
When it is, we start throttling. You have this very equal deal over there.

I once called the CS about a persistent and recurring latency issue that was since resolved. [b]The CSR passed me to his manager. The manager said "You're on 1M, of course you'll lag when playing online games. Consider upgrading to 2M?"[b/]
You gotta be f'king kidding me.

LOL!
typical BS
