Well everyone know that its not their fault that the cable is broken. And lot of people here mention that not only Malaysia are having problem, even the "godly" (to some of you) Singapore having problem and even the UK.

For me Streamyx service has been ok, my speed has been consistence, torrent with good amount of seeder can go full speed, of course when the cable is in good condiiton, now I get max 100kbps.

Well, some of you might have other problem.

Tell me, does TM really  own this submarine cable and responsible of everything about it?

If they are indeed throttling because the international lines can't handle it, then why the bloody hell do they keep advertising faster and faster connections??

1Mbps, 2Mbps, all this super fast connections that they advertise, and then they say "Oh, our international lines can't handle it so we'll give you less than 1Mbps for your 2Mbps line. And for you 1Mbps subcribers, we'll give you less than 512Kbps".

They used to throttle youtube and the like as well. People only started reporting increased youtube speeds like, 3 weeks ago?

We don't mind if they throttle, but at least be HONEST about it. They've been doing it for years, throttling everyone's connection to everything, but they always say that they don't. At least with P1Wimax's FUP they're honest about when they're gonna throttle.

And Andrew, gathering and charging internet users for downloading 'illegal' content is very very very ambiguous. They'd need to get individual distributors' permissions to pursue said charges. And what's worse, not every 'illegal' content actually has a licensed distributor in Malaysia.

And then things will get messy, like "what products are illegal?". Is downloading shows that are not distributed in Malaysia illegal? Is the download of pornography illegal?

What about legal distribution softwares like Steam and Direct2Drive? They use LOADS of bandwidth when people buy and download whole games using it. Like me, I just bought and downloaded Portal on Steam. The game was almost 4 Gigs. I'm thinking of buying Empire: Total War on Steam too. That game is 8 Gigs.

Are they going to be illegal because of the amount of bandwidth they use? And Youtube uses a lot of bandwidth too. Shall Youtube be made illegal too? Some legal game publishers actually use torrents and download sites to distribute their software. Will those be illegal too?

PS: Since when was the Wikipedia page on Streamyx this short? It used to be at least twice the length. The page is now damn minimalistic, and makes no mention of public opinion on the service, nor does it mention specifics o exactly how "...Malaysian internet infrastructure have been identified as not meeting the current standards..."

Convenient that all references are basically advertising the service...

i can get 175.* ip to get unthrottle speed...but this ip is very hard to get. Have to stay with damn 115 and 118 ip
