Are they good enough for ps3? Tight budget ><

as long the monitor support hdcp, either thru dvi or hdmi... yeah.. good enough for ps3

how do we know our monitor supports HDCP? mine is
943nwx

plus one more thing...since my monitor is vga cable....i need vga to hdmi OR vga (monitor) to dvi (converter) to hdmi (ps3)

I'm planning to buy a LCD for my PS3 and computer...
my budget is around 1.5k....
below are my target:

Alienware 21.5" LCD monitor (Refurbished) - 400 no warranty
Dell U2410 24" LCD monitor (Refurbished) - 650 no warranty
Dell ST2410 24" LCD monitor + 5yrs warranty- 650
Philips 32" FHD LCD - 1299
Panasonic TH-L32U20K 32" FHD LCD - N/A (i cant find these model at my hometown)

or any others suggestions?? thanks

No such cable and even if there is one, you won't be able to play since PS3 does not output through VGA signal. The closest thing you will get is a converter box and that will not result in a desirable picture quality compared to DVI or HDMI.

I may go for ST2410 since it has 5 years warranty and I can use the rest of the money on other stuffs

I own a Dell ST2410 24", have to say pretty satisfied with it. The pic is crystal clear, compare to my other Sony 40" and Philips 32" LCD tv. And its conveniences since i put that Dell in my room to play PS3 and HD movies so it save some space as its not that big.

But there r cons to the Dell display, it doesn't come with speaker, you have to buy then separately although a nice RM25 SonicBoom Speaker will do (depend on ur budget)

In the end, i recommended it if you want to buy the LCD display playing PS3 game and watch HD movies on your own but if its for the whole family entertainment, better get a bigger screen... again depend on ur usage.

is anyone know that Samsung fx2490hd available yet?

Added on November 11, 2010, 11:46 amif u not going for Full HD, I recommend a LCD TV instead of LCD Monitor, I'm using a Sony 32" (Around RM 1500, other brand could be cheaper) for both PC and PS3, i use HD cable for both so it ease the trouble to go thru a lot of configuration from PC to LCD TV.

At last i bought a Philips 32 inch full HD LCD TV at Tesco for price of RM1299. still not yet have time to tested up................but for this price range of RM1299 if u get the "Kimchi" brand or "sushi" brand, im sure u will get a HD ready LCD TV only...................

actually 1080p doesnt make much diff for 32" lcd since u wont get to see the difference with human vision, 1080p usually suit better for 42" and up. the biggest problem that i have with my 32" LCD is the Hz, 60hz LCD will sometime lag slightly when u play movie or video game even if it's just 32". But 100-200hz tv is flawless, however to get higher hz means more cash which i not investing atm

between Panasonic VIERA TH-P42V20K and Sharp LC-40LE820M QUATTRON, which one would you guys recommend? one is Plasma and other one is LED. n yeah i know LED is energy savy.
but how bout on performance when playing bd movies and ps3 games? which one would you guys pick?
thinking of changing my display end december. any opinion is welcomed. thanks

oh and LG 42LX6500 also look nice. mybe cheapest 3d tv in town. best denki KLCC got promo free 4 3d spec & hdmi cable = RM7999. quite tempted as well

Guys I am planning to get a monitor.. between all of these

~Samsung P2370hd
~Samsung P2770h
~Samsung BX2450
~Samsung Px2370

Between all of it which one is a better choice in terms of picture quality and value for money as well.

Guys, is it normal to have the LCD while in standby mode not able to turn on and display anything while ps3 is started? I could heear it's started cos speakers got the ps3 welcome sound- eg: my LCD is standby, turn on ps3, heard the sound but no display, turned off LCD completely by pressing power, turn on again and image appears..

Alternatively I could turn on ps3 first then turn on my LCD and it'll display straight..
I'm using LG LED flatron e2350t and dvi to hdmi cable/y splitter for audio.

currently im using Samsung SyncMaster B2230

the only problem i have is it doesnt support audio output for my desktop whenever i connect the monitor to my desktop

im connecting my Sonic Gear Audio System (not desktop speaker) to the monitor & my PS3 sounds came out just fine

but when i switch to display my desktop, it doesnt have sound

anyone an help

actually theres a cable for u to use that vga monitor to ps3. i bought it for rm100 n im using samsung 933sn to play my ps3. but the graphic is not so good. so now im looking for a new lcd monitor that support hdmi.

any suggestion? my budget is below rm1000
