Eh, my gaming rig has a Asus A8N-SLI mobo and one pair ASUS EN7800GT in SLI with X-Fi Fatality and imported Asus P1 PhysX and Crucial 2GB DDR400. Topped off with AMD Athlon64X2 4200+ and 120GB WD SATA2 HD. Very high end when I built it in 2005 and took over a year to complete, and by the time completed cost almost RM10k.

Obsoleted in three years. Cannot even run Bioshock without getting "bioshocked".

Amount of money pumped into it and the amount of hell it gave me (mainly related to PSU - PSUs above 500w was still hard as hell to find back then, and one instance of mobo chipset fan burning out- that rig's mobo was victim of Asus' faulty chipset fan issue) and how it became obsolete so fast made me swear never to ever build another gaming rig ever again.

As for where the machine is now, it's now my primary work PC. Can still play games, but not the this-year's-top-demanding game.

I must get a 360 to go with my PS3 and Wii this year. Need to expedite, this morning switch on portable TV, saw Viva Pinata. Think it's a message from whatever power that's screwing with my life at the moment (JHVH1, "The Light", "Goddess of Mana", "Great Justice", whatever) to get a 360 or suffer the consequences...
