FAQ / Terms & Conditions
Q. What if lenses are damaged during my (renter) possession?
A. You shall be held responsbile for any major damages such as optic/mechanical failure. You shall be billed as per charge by Manufacturer for the repair. You're required to test shoot on-the-spot while C.O.D. We can setup a time where we can meet for tea and you test untill you're satisfied. Minor damage such as scractches on the len's body, it will not be a problem.

Q. What if I wish to extend my rental period?
A. The price above serve as a basis for rental perday. However, if you wish to pro-long the rental duration, discounts are available. PM me and we shall discuss further (We'll contact you and negotiate on the price).

Q. Do you have other lenses for rent?
A. Yes, at the moment, there are limited number of lenses for rental. We're planning to stock up more lenses in future.

Q. Do I need pay deposit and how much?
A. Yes, you need to pay deposit for the lens, at 50% of the lens' retail price. E.g. AF-S VRII Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED @ RM7150. So you will be paying RM3575 as deposit. When the rental period ended, e.g. 2 days @ RM215, you will be refunded (either Cash or Direct Bank Deposit) RM3360.

Q. Can I use my credit card to deposit (Some want to use future cash tongue.gif)?
A. Yes you can, and if you noticed, we'd added the PayPal option above. We will issue you a partial refund (amount subject to the above example) to you once we'd gotten the lens from you.

Q. Do I pay first or pay on the spot?
A. You do not need to pay first using PayPal. The actual online transaction can be carried out during the meetup for lens inspection/return.

Q. Other than above method, can I use other mean of collaterals other than the above-mentioned one?
A. Yes you can. If you have extra lenses or other item that translate to similar value (based on current market value at our discretion), we're willing to let you use that as collaterals.

note: In order to protect both parties (You and Us) incase of any dispute, we'll sign an official letter bearing our company letter head with you with all the terms and conditions stated - it will be the same for all customers.

Regards,
Get-A-Lens

Thanks. Interested? Do let us know

We also cater for tourist who visited Malaysia particularly Klang Valley. So they don't have to lug around the big and heavy lens if they want to use it for certain purpose. On the contrary, photographers who owns all big lenses and keep their lenses at home and just rent a simple 18-200mm VR for travel/general purpose.

I strongly suggest you set up a website so I can bookmark. I was thinking about this business model recently but I realised I will need insanely a lot of money to start up.

So instead, I will be a customer.

Appreciate a full listing of price (for Canon) so that I may put in consideration as and when I need.

Added on March 18, 2010, 1:47 pmIf you rather not list out the price here, please PM me the Canon price list for my reference. May consider the 70-200 and/or 580EX for events purposes.

Please PM me Canon 580EXII and Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS price for 1 day rental.

If I decide to take them, it will be tomorrow. Therefore please reply on urgent basis smile.gif

Hi marcus_dds,

Thank you for your interest. We'd replied to you via PM. However for the benefit of others, I would like to add-on here, urgent case will be treated on case-by-case basis depending on stock availability. For you case, we'd got one unit of 580EX-II returned this morning, so if you need it, we can rent it out this evening itself. Unfortunately, the 70-200mm is not available for this weekend as of this moment.

wah bro, good idea, salute salute. Nice collection of FF lenses there. Aku jelous nii..  drool.gif  What about camera body rental?
*
Thanks. Don't have to be jealous. We're taking a risk here. Please bear with us with some terms. Needed it to minimize our risk (e.g. 50% deposit). So are you interested in any of the item? We're planning to stockup more lenses soon. At this moment, there is no plans to add camera bodies to our inventory.

Cheers

for flash rental, how if the bulb burn during rental period, even though just after few shots? who will bear the repair cost? thinking to rent the flash for my brother wedding.. biggrin.gif
*
Good question. We send in our gears periodically for service and for cases like the one mentioned will be treated on a case by case basis, depending on condition/age of item, discussion to find out how it was used, report from supplier etc. If it is found to be the customer's negligence, then cost of repair or replacement will be bourned by the customer.

More details will be added soon.

renting service can work meh?
once len fail to focus
how much need to repair?
later ask rental to pay then jia lat
haha

If there are demand, then it will. That is why we don't cater poslaju services because we want to minimize the risk of lens damages. We bring our lenses to respective service center from time to time to time. Once lens fail to focus, it is most likely due to drop for e.g. and of course user if the lens is under their care during the rental tenure (that is why customer will have to bring their dSLR camera for lens testing on the spot). Cost of repair will depends on how much the vendor charges us. We'll provide you a copy of the repair's receipt. We don't take extra charges from there.

blisscandid, first of all, please accept our apology for not attending to you earlier. However, we couldn't cater for last minute request, because there is a possibility there are no stock available. And for your case, it was our fault for not replying you earlier, but, the flash was rented out as well.

Thank you for your interest.
