I think less than 100 ppl earn a living through badminton in Msia.

I read about his loss in a recent tournament.. Datuk Lee chong wei cried.. I cried too while reading the news paper. dunno why.. I haz a sadding too..

LCW don't have a specific salary but if I'm not mistaken he get national allowance around RM5-7000 a month. After won silver medal in Olympic, LCW get his pension's allowance from government RM3000 a month. From his sponsor roughly around RM5000-10000 a month. so Basically a month Dato' LCW get more than RM15-20k excluding his winning tournament. My cousin who worked in Kementerian Belia dan Sukan, He did mention to me, in 2010 LCW claimed more than RM2.5 millions from KBS for his winning tournament while Dato Nicol David around RM1.8 millions. LCW also get RM15 000 a month from IBF for his World's no 1 player


And two months ago, Dato' LCW and Nicol David get theirs RM200k++ from Skim Hadiah Kemenangan Sukan (SHAKAM)


Dato' LCW earn per year

Allowance : RM5000 x 12 = RM60 000 ( I take minimum)
Sponsorship : RM5000 x 12 = RM60 000
Pension Allowance : RM3000 x = RM33 000
Tournament : RM 2.5 Millions
IBF allowance for No.1 : RM15 000 x 12 = RM 180 000
SHAKAM : RM 200 000

Total : 60 000 + 60 000 + 33 000 + 2, 500 000 + 180 000 + 200 000
= RM 3.03 Millions


I assume Dato' LCW earn more than that per year

All hardwork deserves good rewards. nothing wrong with this system.

Everyone has their hobby and interest.

If Lee Chong Wei loved cars he sure buy nice cars. If he love motosikal he sure buy nice motosikal.

It is good to reward yourself after alot of sacrifice.

And the best part , his future wife (Mew Choo) will be loving it. Lulz
