smart cards are not interchangeable

they will collect back old astro decoder including dish, and replace with byond set for free, pay RM80 to retain old decoder set

byond set must use dish exclusively, however you can request LNB with 2 output to feed to your 2 decoders without interference

Before changing to Astro Byond:
2 Smart card
2 Decoder
1 Dish

After changing to Astro Byond:
2 Smart Card
1 Normal Decoder
1 Byond Decoder
1 Dish

Where are you going to get the extra card for your additional decoder? If you want to keep on using your astro max, upgrade the account that's not attached to the astro max. That way you can still get to keep your astro max. The astro max cannot record HD content anyway.

For those who are interested to integrate Astro B.yond with Windows Media Center.

This is Astro B.yond HD feed via Windows Media Center using DVBLink.

Test clip. This one using Arcsoft Total Media Extreme.

And this one using Windows Media Center 7. It's WTV format so you'll need Media Center 7 to view it.

Astro B.yond output via HDMI
HDMI signal converted to Component and Audio using HDFury2
Capture via Hauppauge HD-PVR via Component and Optical-in (with DVBLink plugin)

hi everyone...does anybody know if I use to connect my old decoder while using new Byond dish...will it work?

My situation is like this :

The old decoder will be use in the bedroom while the byond decoder still remain as it in the living room. The only thing is I just want to share the dish with 2 accounts (2 smart cards @ 1 normal acc,1 byond acc)

Of course can. You can ask installer to change your LNB from single output to dual output. So from the one dish, the 2 output can be fed in to the 2 different decoders.

Thanks for the info. But is there a way where I can buy it and install myself? Usually when we call the installer they will charge for some $$ which I try to avoid for such a simple thing... biggrin.gif

Try use the card at your friend's house, or at your parent's house. If it works, that means the card can work at any decoder..
and 1 more thing, i think u know it already, but I just mention it again ... astro don't sell decoders only. It sell decoders + subscription (smart card).
