Is this the feeling of having a car??...woowww....

bro titarium, please de-italic my name as I just received my 2.0 SX ClearWhite today.....
*
LOL. My name has been in italics despite having Cera for 3 months.

Oh yeah... increased my tyre pressure to 34PSI today.... more jerky than 32 but the car feels less sluggish/sticky to the road. Maybe will drop it to 33 and see how it goes.

my 16" can use 34 better FC & less roll but over bumps a bit hard.
*
I don't think the difference in FC between 34 & 32 PSI is that significant but we'll see next week. Comfort-wise it's only a very slight increase in harshness (which is probably not noticable for most), but much better than the original showroom 38PSI.

QUOTE(toyotarave @ Apr 1 2010, 04:29 PM)
For other Fortezens about to receive their car - please do not I repeat do not ask your SA to use the single row number plate ( like the boot version) for your front - it looks terribly ut of balance even with 4 number and four alphabets - because there is like a 3 inch open space at left and right - I did mine but my SA managed to ask the stockyard guy to do a new square one for me....phew, for the photo of the ppl preparing the bodykit maybe izputra here can take some better shots, mine came out blurry.
*
Eh? Mine's a single row and I think a rectangular plate looks better than a square one. Then again, my Vic plate is probably shorter than M'sian plates.

Geesh why isn't anyone excited with the new Optima... Absolutely beautiful stuff by the Koreans. The Sonata looks so feminine beside the testosterone-fueled Optima. Too bad it doesn't come with the Cadenza's LED headlamp curves.

Anyway, Cadenza's new advertisement...

KIA has launched the Kia Forte 5-door in the US.

http://www.netcarshow.com/kia/2011-forte_5-door/
*
Much better than the spyshot suggested. The rear end is reminiscent of the European Ceed with a touch of Venga. The extra-window behind the C-pillar makes it look less sporty but I guess the extra visibility will be welcomed.

As much as I like hatches, I think the sedan version looks more cohesive.

Meanwhile, Optima's official pics are out too... The interior looks slightly underwhelming compared to the Cadenza... No mood lightings, no red illumination around the meters, everything in slate grey... Come on, at least add in some gunmetal inserts/piano black panels in the central console like the Forte.

Bro,

K5 already launched in Aust? or just Korea launched?
*
Officially revealed in New York Motorshow, but I guess it'll take some time before it hit the roads. Rumours in Australia are saying the end of this year but I reckon it'll be 2011 at least. The Sportage is still not here yet.

QUOTE(kennyphan @ Apr 3 2010, 01:17 AM)
Not really got any formal comparison btw 95 & 97.
You must pump both of it and test it personally with your driving style to know the result.

Anyhow, I can provide my feedback.
BHP RON95, car slightly heavy pickup and my driving style will follow the car standard pickup except really hard rev for more power. Full tank can achieve DTE 500km - 530km!
BHP RON97, car more easy pickup and my driving style push the car always pickup with easy rev for power.
Full tank can achieve DTE 470km - 480km!

So, I personally feel RON95 give more FC with the low cost fuel price!
I pump 1st month for RON97, 2nd month for RON95 and now 3rd month for RON97
Because I like the driving feel!!!

Hope you can give a try and feedback us too for your result!
*
If RON95 provides better FC at a lower price, then there is no point spending more on 97 I suppose.

That's a Koup. The Koup bumper doesn't look good on the Forte sedan to be honest... too ahbeng-ish for the mild-mannered looking sedan and it's one of the reasons I didn't go for the Lancer. But of course, looks are subjective.

I still haven't really seen a body kit that suits the Forte sedan... stock is still the best.

QUOTE(izputra @ Apr 5 2010, 08:24 AM)
Agreed with u bro..stock one already nice + low enough. If my eyes serve me right, the 2.0 Forte front end looks lower a bit than the 1.6 Forte. Maybe becoz of the 2.0 engine was heavier than the 1.6 engine. & since that my apartment got steep entrance to the parking lot, i need to think twice to install a BK now..scared if the front BK will 'excavate' the concrete floor when going down  sweat.gif
*
Not sure whether the front end of the 2.0 is indeed lower than 1.6 as we don't have 1.6s over here. But the Forte does look as if the front nose is pointing downwards when viewed from the side, a bit like the arrowhead styling of the City.

The Forte's front bumper is indeed quite low. I've scraped Cera's front against parking humps a few times but luckily no damage done as there's a black piece of soft, rubbery plastic beneath the bumper for protection.

I am SO getting an Optima if I decide to upgrade my car 5, 6 years down the track...

Ironically, the yin here looks more masculine than the yang.

Cadenza's interior looks more upmarket than the Optima though.

Any picz how d 15" rims look like? Feels like downgrading the 17" to 15". Its very hard to find 5 holes rims at 15"(nearly impossible), mostly is 17". Even 16" have very limited design with 5 holes. My SA told me long time ago about the EX comes with BK thingy.. He said if I want to install the BK just add another RM 2.3k..  sweat.gif

*
Ugly steel caps for ASEAN EX and American LX trim Fortes... stole toyotarave's pic laugh.gif
user posted image

The 15" steel rims for Australian S trim Forte, but still looks ugly IMO.
user posted image

The American Forte EX uses better looking 15" rims.
user posted image

Ah heck, just use the 17" rims of the SX lah... best looking of them all tongue.gif

QUOTE(miet @ Apr 5 2010, 10:53 AM)
With BK, the sexy beauty curve of Peter Schreyer's Design will lost. Instead, with BK you will gain a more sporty look.
It's very subjective indeed.
heeheehee...
*
It is very subjective, but personally I think all aftermarket body kits for the Forte makes it look fat... especially the thick front lips.

QUOTE(miet @ Apr 5 2010, 11:21 AM)
As for interior look, I prefer the sonata YS.
*
I actually don't like the excessive curves and flows of the new Tuscon and Sonata. Looks too busy and messy. Give me simple, minimalistic designs like Cadenza's anyday.

QUOTE(phelix @ Apr 5 2010, 11:34 AM)
which is the one u design.. optima design shifted to forte...
hmm.. i still canot forget the design... very impressive.
*
I only added the Optima's foglamps to Cera ler... not a huge makeover also...

Shitz the Koreans are fast in photoshopping... mafia black Optima is the WIN. Don't like the gangster looking wheels though... original 18" space wheel looks more unique. The white one has revised bumper which looks boring.

Quick check with everyone - I noticed that my SA's Forte had the silver chrome finish on the center console and the steering like this SG Forte - was that for the first batch in Malaysia - mine is dark carbon finish
*
The earliest batch of Fortes that was released in late 2009/early 2010 had light silver interior inserts. It was subsequently changed to gunmetal for the revised 2010 models, so any Fortes produced after midyear 2009 will get the gunmetal. The Koup on the other hand has the gunmetal all along but with a slightly larger piano black centre piece.

Yup..i use the highest setting for the seat. maybe i will try to lower the seat all the way down to see if got any different. Or perhaps, ask my wife to drive the car & me seating at the back seat to determine where the sound came from
*
Push it all the way down ler.... I used to drive at the highest seat setting due to my habit of sitting up high after previously driving mum's Xsara Picasso. Then tried it once to drive at low seat setting and never looked back... macam driving sports car.

Ya..ya..i better follow your suggestion after this..hehe. If the sound came from the seat, hopefully by pushing it all the way down will solve this rattling issue  wink.gif
*
Mine didn't have rattling sound even at maximum seat height... sweat.gif

Looks like we can compile a list of rattling sounds liao:
1. Seat
2. Glove box
3. Driver reading lights/sunglasses compartment (mine sad.gif )
4. Seat belt/side pillar
5. ? feel free to add

More K5 poison... Just realised something... There are two different grill designs for the Optima. A full chrome rimmed one as shown in the first pic, and another one with a slimmer edge like the official launch pics.

I personally prefer the slimmer one.
