I'm, planning to get Nikon D90, but now i dilemma, the shop keep asking me to buy Canon 550D or 50D over Nikon D90, said Canon is made in Japan while Nikon is made in Thailand, and Nikon service is slow and expensive while Canon service is fast and cheaper, even accessories Canon cheaper than Nikon.

Ok, now I have decided to get Nikon D90, not to listen to that shop anymore, I like the D90 very much. One of the problem is should I buy right now or wait until May because got Camera exhibition or show at Mid Valley, maybe will be cheaper that time?

Hi, yesterday went to buy the D90 body at lowyat and the price over there damn confuse, you can get it as low as RM2480 to RM3000++, and got too many shops will con custmer, selling water device with original Nikon Malaysia device price, too many photo shops over there and too many competition. I got something to ask about the battery grip, salesperson over there said better buy original Nikon battery grip than third party battery grip bacause original one can increase the shutter speed from 4.5f/s to 6.5f/s, is that true?

That's the problem, i hae been searching on the internet for the battery grip and the fps and found nothing related to these 2 accessories for D90, only D300, D700 got such function.

When shooting movie with D90, the salesperson told me that it will increase the count of the shutter, is that true? I have no idea why shooting movie will cause the shutter count increase.

Great price, yours is under water or Nikon Malaysia one? I heard that right now the Nikon Malaysia D90 no longer have any free gift due to price drop, is that true?

I got the body only last week, RM2480 with free 4gb SD card.

Yes, I also heard that, Nikon drop the price because of the under water device and Canon just launched the EOS550D, so Nikon want to keep the market share, they choose to drop deon the price to fight with the Canon and under water device.

Last Sunday went to PC Fair, the D90 selling at RM3300 with free goodies like SD card, Tripod, bag..., but when asked whether the warranty is given by Nikon Malaysia, the answer was "NO, warranty is given by our shop and we got a lot of branches in whole Malaysia and we already in the photography market more than 20 years, so no need to worry the warranty". I don't know whether it is a good deal or not because at Lowyat 1st floor, we can get this price easily even before PC Fair 3 weeks.

Added on April 20, 2010, 4:34 pmA lot of rumors that the replacement for the D90 is around the corner, but how true is this? I have asked some shop and some said it just too early for D90 replacement because it still out-sell the Canon 550D even the Canon is the new model while the D90 is an old model. And some said they heard that the replacement will be D90s or something, added some extra features like 1080P video recording plus external stereo mic connector, confuse lar.

Hi, does anyone there can tell me where can I get cheaper telephoto converter for my D90, I have been looking for this tele converter, but seem like the price is very high at here, some selling at RM1.6k. In ebay, most of the tele converter, no matter it is from original Nikon or third parties like Sigma, Tamron... all the price is below USD150, some can go as low as USD79.00, there is really a big different for Malaysia price compare to ebay one.
