I think it is because most of your questions can be obtained easily by using google now.
Sometimes doing you own homework rather than just asking people here, the information you get from your own study might be more accurate as you are asking from different people and there are always different answers depending of personal knowledge level as well.

Therefor, i recommend you to go survey and read articles about those technical stuffs yourself.

Noise reduction at high level reduces noise. At the same time, more fine tiny details are being flatten to the nearest colour as well.

1st statement i support as well. 18-200mm zoom is not really necessary because same thing still can be obtained after cropping even with a 18-55mm or a 24mm lens on a large mp cam. Besides, prime lens will have better IQ than long zoom lens as well. Always remember the lesser then glasses in a lens, the better. 18-105mm VR kit lens is a very good lens for its' IQ compared to 18-200mm VR2 lens but of cause, in terms of convenience 18-105 will not beat 18-200.

2nd statement not very true though, because there's a reason for f/2.8 as well as those f/1.8 or f/1.4 to exist as well. f/3.5-5.6 lens can never obtain the same effect like those. Disregarding the aperture difference, just imagine 18-200mm VR2 lens can outperform a 70-200mm VR2 with its' wider angle coverage only, 70-200mm won't be on the shelf in camera shop anymore.

Added: There are many other reasons for lens 70-200mm f/2.8 as well as those 300mm 400mm lens to be on the shelf as well.

That's for majority though, but i did noticed that modern zoom lens seems to have improved their IQ until it almost or already equivalent to a prime lens already.

Added: That's one of the reason making me wanna get a 70-200mm VR2 myself as well

Currently my kit lens can gaotim most of my photography as well, but will get 50mm f/1.4 soon too

f/1.4D or f/1.4G i heard can create more bokeh efect than f/1.8D, although i know f/1.8D is super cheap, lesser than RM500 can get this awesome bokeh lens already

Then Nikkor 50mm F/1.4G is for you, although no VR too but at least you can increase your shuttle speed with extra aperture
