well i think u just missed the cheapest offer in pc fair last day
it was rm3369 for d90+kit len + bag+tripod+8gb sdcard

u can try get the body alone and shop for others if u wanna save money and go slowly

its easy to get the 18-105mm kit len easily on secondhand market at a cheap price.

I think you could probably get those converters from tripod to flash. Haven't tried mounting flash on tripod yet, so far what I've seen are flash light stands, mounting to the stand looks different.

f/2.8 on 70-200 or telephoto lens, yes, very creamy.

On normal zoom, still lose to 1.4 or 1.2

I'd prefer to slightly overexpose as well for portraits and the reason you've mentioned earlier.
And for your pics, it's just nice on both my calibrated screens, doesn't really look too much over, just nice.

Btw, for creamy bokeh, KTCY, remember the 105 DC we tested, damn that's one of the most poisonous portrait lens ever built...
If you can find the 135, thats even better.
But currently, i'm happy with the loaned 85 F/1.8 in my drybox...The bokeh is still fantastic eventhough not as good as the 1.4...

Oh ya, isepunya, if u expect creamy bokeh at the range of 17-50, u better hope u have something <1.4, for anything at 2.8, it just wouldn't really work...

Before the 1.2, lets just wait for the 85 F/1.4 VR which is due to release soon, that i believe will be another extremely poisonous lens...

im seriously recommending Ansmann 2850mAh AA batteries. REALLY last damn long.
My friends, one using eneloop 2000mAh, one using Maha PowerEX 2700mAh, eneloop finishes fastest (with canon 430EX), then later maha also finished (sony F58). My one lasts the longest until the next day morning still can use will full power. Not sure if we shoot different style (higher flash power usage or else) but I seldom (or never) have my ansmann batts gone kosong during a fullday shoot. Until late evening maybe only kosong.

Haha do you think you need flash when you use D3S, other than strobist and fill flash? hahaha jk~

yes the stability is important but for a skinny guy like me.. he he 'heavy' gears while going around all day is quite a problem..
why want flash when u have D3s?
