QUOTE(FusioneX @ Jul 20 2010, 11:11 AM) As far as I know, the news that H&M will be opening their flagship store in Malaysia soon is just a baseless rumour. I have been looking at Hennes & Mauritz's annual reports and so far there have yet to be any mentions about expansion to this part of the world. H&M opened their first stores this year in countries such as Turkey (June), Israel (March) and South Korea (February) and these were reflected in their previous AGM (Annual General Meeting) report. During the recent AGM which was held in April this year, the Chief Executive Officer reported that Hennes & Mauritz expresses their interest in Asia but they will only be focusing on expanding their other labels - COS, Monki and Weekday by opening new stores in Hong Kong. For their main label, H&M : In HENNES & MAURITZ AB's six-month report released recently (June), they listed Croatia and Romania as the new countries for expansion in spring 2011 and Morocco as the new franchise market in autumn 2011. Strong rumor they were planning to open in Singapore too.

QUOTE(FusioneX @ Jul 20 2010, 12:32 PM) I believe H&M's Discussion Board on Facebook (with its various Bring H&M to *insert_country_name*! threads) to be one of the sources of this rumour. Based on the rate which H&M is expanding, there could be a chance of having a H&M flagship store in our country in the future but as for how soon it is, nobody knows yet since Hennes & Mauritz have not announced anything officially. Expect surprises, I guess. It would probably be a franchise given the fact that some major international retailers are exiting our markets . The rumor in Singapore is they will open at a Mall which is currently under construction near Somerset 313. The initial rumor was for them to open at Orchard Ion, which in my mind is highly improbably given the mall's market positioning. The subsequent rumor was for them to open at 313 Somerset only to be beaten to the spot by Uniglo. I've also heard that the owners of The Heeren were negotiating with them to be located there as the Heeren lost a major anchor tenant after HMV relocated to 313. Ah well it seems that our market is not sufficiently attractive for them!!

QUOTE(hedonkop @ Jul 20 2010, 08:25 PM) Agree with you on the pricing...just hoping there's no much difference with the singapore retail price. and it's good to know that the Uniqlo(My) site is on the way.. I hope they bring in the J+ range designed by Jil Sanders too. Bought one of the t-shirts during the recent great Singapore sale & they were a real joy to wear. Don't think H & M will have the same quality standards as Uniglo

QUOTE(FusioneX @ Jul 21 2010, 11:39 PM) With KL Pavilion Sdn. Bhd. in charge of retail planning, Fahrenheit 88 will most definitely have a new lease of life - Its exterior facade has already taken shape with a stylish modern design: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Credit where credit is due: Pictures taken from http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1053693The tunnel that used to connect the hotel & KL Plaza needs to be revived as motorists & bikes tend to ignore the traffic lights on this stretch of road to facilitate ease of access .

QUOTE(Majinity @ Sep 28 2010, 07:43 AM) If you know what the exact conversion/exchange rate, then it would be best. Someone did post up the price of in SGD and MYR pages back, seems like they're going for nearly 2.5 exchange rate. Thats high knowing now its only around 2.2 Exchange rates fluctuate. You cannot seriously expect the retailer to change prices on a daily basis to reflect the currency spot price
