QUOTE(chuakz @ Apr 7 2010, 03:43 PM) i can bet you that wont happen....the only reason topman is to the british what pasar malam clothes is like to us is bcos of the exchange rate....jus like zara..."cheap" elsewhere in europe but expensive here.....its not cheap...its jus they earn more...so they think it is cheap...in fact its almost the same price when u convert... ok..u are comparing with ZARA and topman.. then let me know which brand from other country imported to M'sia, the price change slightly? Got a few polo tees from Uniqlo Singapore for S$30 each and a pair of jeans for only S$20! Love the quality and price.

You know, getting Uniqlo here will actually give local brands such as Padini / SEED some competition since the former's price to quality ratio is marvelous (provided that DNP Clothing don't mark up the price of Uniqlo's garments too much).
By the way, I'm guessing that DNP Clothing (Topshop,Topman,Dorothy Perkins, etc) will be in charge of Uniqlo in Malaysia since the company is under Wing Tai Asia (distributor of Uniqlo in Singapore).

Yeah.. I agree with you on this matter. Uniqlo offers great quality clothing but in more affordable manner. This will give some healthy competition for Padini/SEED or even GAP which is always compared to Uniqlo. Quite useful information on this..Where you get this kind of information? Mind to share..

QUOTE(hedonkop @ Apr 12 2010, 01:21 AM) Quite useful information on this..Where you get this kind of information? Mind to share.. Retailers' annual reports and corporate news, usually available on their respective websites. Annual reports usually include future expansion plans like the opening of new regional flagship stores but from UNIQLO's previous annual report, there still isn't any confirmed news about opening a store in Malaysia. I have yet to check Wing Tai Asia's annual report though.

I hope there will be a good news in the near future regarding on this matter.

although it may be priced similar to topman's, but overall, the quality of uniqlo is still a lot more better than topman.
