How is the quality of their latest RM49.90 slim fit colour jeans?
*
for RM50 i think they r decent.

but personally i din like them. its 100% cotton so unless u skinny u wont really get a slim fit. i had to size up 2 to size 34 n ended up the thigh/waist area being slim but the knees n below were baggy. i much prefer the RM 169.90 slim fit jeans coz they come with 2% elastane so more comfy.

Hey guys I've just bought a pair of black jeans from Uniqlo for the price of RM79 2 days ago after my some of my jeans are worned out at the bottom.

I wonder if the length of the jeans is too long should I cut it to make the length shorter? I'm afraid this problem will occur again. One of the shop keeper there told me that they don't provide the cutting service so if I want to get my jeans cut I need to find a private tailor.
*
Uniqlo provides free alteration service for items above RM50. u dun even have to get the alteration done straight away after buying the item. a few months down the road also they will provide free alteration as long as d items has not been altered in any way.

u washed the jeans yet ? coz there will be some shrinkage in length during 1st wash. i advice u to only alter the jeans after 1-2 washes.

Yeah I washed the jeans once already but I have not wore it yet.

Which Uniqlo branch provides free alteration? And can I get it done in another branch?

I don't think the branch (in Setia Mall) where I bought it from provides that as that day I have already asked one of the shopkeepers. Thanks btw.
*
u din wear it yet but the bottoms r getting worn out ? or have u been wearing it around the house wit no shoes on ?

i think every branch provides free alteration. but u most prob have to bring back to the Setia Mall outlet for free alteration. y not just give them a call n ask about the free alteration. the outlet's no is on the receipt. im pretty sure the SA misinformed u about the no free alteration.

Oh sorry you misunderstood me, what I meant by my "jeans with worn out bottoms" is some of my older jeans (different brands) in my wardrobe and that is why I had to buy a new pair of jeans (which is this current one from Uniqlo  smile.gif ). Oh and I don't wear jeans at home.

Well, I thought I could find some answers here regarding my question in the other thread too haha. The Link.

I shall wear it on CNY to see if it's like what you mentioned that after 1 - 2 washes, the length will shrink and I won't have to do any alterations to my new jeans.  biggrin.gif

Will check out the outlet number later after work, thanks a lot for the info!
*
i used to have the prob of jeans hem gettin worn out n torn. but that was bcoz i was wearing those loose fit jeans. nowadays i only wear slim fit and the bottoms of my jeans never touch d floor. my UJ slim fit is prob 3 inches longer than my ideal inseam length n it it never once touches the floor...n i wear them mostly with converse. IMHO jeans look better a few inches longer than formal pants.

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Feb 1 2013, 02:59 PM)
seriously uniqlo jeans will shrinkage after wash? i just had alteration it nicely fit my length during the day i purchase....

doh.gif now only notice this thread....how serious the shrinkage will be? i worried that shrinkage will make my pants looks like cropped pants =.=
*
dun worry it wont be extreme shrinkage. if ur pair isn't raw den d shrinkage will be minimal...prob at most an inch. cotton will always shrink. but UJ jeans have been sanforized to prevent extreme shrinkage. after washing d jeans d 1st time u will prob feel its a bit tighter especially around the waist n thigh area. dun worry after a few hrs of wearing it will stretch back out. however the length wont stretch back out if it shrinks.

thats y it always advisable to do alteration after 2-3 washes.

my pair of raw UJ shrank 1.5-2 inches in length. 1st wash it shrank about an inch. a few months later after 2nd wash it shrank another inch.

Luckily the new jeans I bought has slim fitted written on it (inner part of the jeans). I saw another type which is skinny fitted (or something) and 1 other but I forgotten the description (I think regular). I was wondering what are the differences between these 3 types of fittings that I saw?  biggrin.gif

So much knowledge from you, jonny4!  notworthy.gif
*
ur pair is slim fit so i dun think u gotta worry about the bottom touching the floor...unless u got really small feet LOL. my slim fit UJ is a size 34 and like i said it never ever touches d floor.

so u prob wont even need to do alteration. just wear it a few times n see how it goes.

the differences between the 3 fits is the shape from knee to ankle.

regular - basic straight cut jeans...knee to ankle all straight.

slim - tighter all over compared to regular fit. tapers gradually fr knee to ankle. leg opening is around 7.5 inches across.

skinny - waist to knee almost d same as slim. but knee to ankle has a more extreme taper. so d leg opening is around 6.5 to 7 inches across.

but also depends on waist size...bigger d waist d bigger d leg opening vice versa.

Hmm...I don't think my feet is that small LOL. My feet size is around 9.

I think all my jeans last time was regular fit as I didn't really know how to pick and that's why it always touches the floor and besides my shoe will be stepping on it also (adds to the friction of my jeans onto the floor, makes it easier to rub against the ground).

And my waist size is 30 only (Not that fat right  biggrin.gif ). I hope all is good (don't scrub the floor again this time lol.) this time around. Hey btw thanks for all the effort replying to my questions jonny4! I really appreciate it man!
*
based on ur shoe size n waist size i can almost 99% guarantee u that ur jeans leg wont touch d floor or go under ur shoe. only thing u might not be used to is the bunching up of d jeans at d ankles due to the smaller leg opening. ppl call it "stacking" n some like the look. those expensive designer jeans like Dior Homme even come in inseam length of 38 inches just to create the stacking. UJ length is 34 inches.

if u dun like stacking u can roll d jeans up a few times. its kinda in style nowadays.

last resort u can go alter.

glad i could help man biggrin.gif

Bought a vintage chino flat front pants brown colour from Uniqlo for RM129.90 that day. Any comments about this particular item? As this is my first time buying pants from Uniqlo
*
a lot ppl fr styleforum rave about the vintage chino.

personally i like everything about the vintage chino except the cutting. i find it a little too baggy. i prefer the slim fit chino but the material n stitching seems not as good as the vintage chino.

Comments? Great.

I wear it at least thrice a week, I love the cutting (I'm not tall, so straight cut fits me), I love the design, I love the colour which goes well with anything.

Only trouble was, as I wear it too often, its very hard to keep away from dirt. Some people tends to 'touch' your pants using their shoes every now and then,  and the prints are very hard to be washed off. So be careful on that.
*
dun rub those stains. my beige chinos kena some stains and i went n rub using a bit of soap. most of the stain came out but that part of the chinos faded and is lighter than d rest.

im actually thinking of getting the slim fit chino but not sure how much shrinkage (if any) to expect when washing d 1st time.

i very nearly bought a pair of slim fit chinos today. had second thoughts coz the material n stitch was too thin. sked koyak when im out n about.

went to Dockers n got a pair of alpha khakis. material was much much thicker than Uniqlo n would be more durable. only drawback is its 100% cotton so it wont be as comfortable as Uniqlo slim fit chino.

i think it was mentioned in GQ every man needs to own a khaki in their wardrobe and dockers label is synonymous for that

i think i read d same article.

IMO the Uniqlo Slim Fit Chino would be more suited to be worn with a button down shirt or a polo n a pair of leather shoes instead of sneakers n a t shirt.

anyone bought boxers from uniqlo? nice?>
*
i got about 10 pairs of the boxer briefs. for RM 19.95 a pair the quality is alright. been wearing them almost daily for 8 months and they kept their shape well. but on 2 pairs i noticed that some parts of the elastic waist band has gone out of shape. mine r all regular rise boxer briefs. i bought one low rise boxer brief and it was really uncomfortable.

Same here. Waiting for the opening here in Penang.

jonny4, thanks for the tip. You've mentioned that Uniqlo's slim chino is even lighter than MNG. Wow, that's pretty thin fabric, I imagine.

Does the Uniqlo slim, tapper more than the MNG chino ?
*
on second thought i think both are about the same as both also have 2% elastane. MNG chino is slightly softer with a washed finish. MNG has another range of 100% cotton chinos...those were thicker than Uniqlos

nope the taper in the MNG is much more extreme. they r like the opposite of each other. Uniqlo has a gradual proportionate taper. tried on 31 n 32 n i can feel the slimness especially around the butt n thigh area. they r similar to the Uniqlo slim fit straight jeans, with the jeans being slightly tighter.

whereas the MNG chino is loose around the thigh n butt area but tapers suddenly to a skinny leg opening. i tried a size 32 and the waist was loose. i then tried a size 30 and it was too tight...couldn't even button up. didn't like the fit...reminds me of Justin Bieber. but i did like the small details on the MNG chino...like contrasting stitching, nicer buttons n etc...overall feels less mass produced compared to Uniqlo.

I would rather disagree with the last statement above.

Won't say all of uniqlo's products are budget conscious and very high in quality.

Uniqlo's just a decent place to buy things for me when there is discounts. Normally, that's when everyone flocks in biggrin.gif
*
i agree.

their QC's a bit off sometimes. when u try on something at UNiqlo and it fits u well, hang on to it, dun put it back n get a newer piece. happened to me a few times. sometimes same size but they fit differently. tried on slim fit chino d other day. i couldn't decide if i want it. went back an hour later n tried on another same piece (same siZe) just to be sure and it was looser. i gave up n bought a pair of dockers alpha khakis.

First time stepping into Uniqlo. Have been a huge fan ever since I saw their range (online) but no online merchants sell Uniqlo. Sad and sien! Probably too small profit margin.

Bloody Melbourne store only going to open some time middle of 2013.

Finally back in Msia, went to KL for 2 days or so, immediately stopped by Uniqlo in Sunway Pyd.

Picked up 2 tees after 5 seconds. And then, some winter in-door slippers, a slim fit flat front Chino, 3 colourful pairs of socks and a few pairs of boxers. w00t! All in under 10 minutes.

Uniqlo is truly a brand I would consider stocking, if I were to open an online clothing boutique store for SEA.

IINM, Uniqlo is only available in the Klang Valley at the moment, right?
*
in 2 weeks i bought 20 of those RM19.90 t shirts in crew n vee neck. i probably got all the colours available LOL. some colours i even bought 2 or 3. one thing i like about the dry packaged tees is that they dun loosen up too much when worn. the 23% polyester did the trick.

their socks r ok too. i have 10 pairs in multiple bright colours already.

i think im addicted to Uniqlo. everytime i go in i end up buying at least a t shirt.

Paradigm is 5 mins away fr where i live. i remember that opening sale. a fren of mine went n bought 10 dry packaged tees n vees. now when we meet up very often wear same top LOL.

the white colour tees n vees a bit transparent. im looking for something a little thicker.

Is this Slim Fit Chino that u are talking about the same as Vintage Flat Front Chino that I asked u about the previous page? No right? So by the way u think these chino's from Uniqlo goes more well with polo's/ button down shirt rather than a tee-shirt?
These tees that u are talking about, are those plain coloured t-shirts that are packed in a plastic package?
*
not the Vintage Flat Front Chino...i tried on those too and they r way too baggy. the slim fit chinos r of a much thinner softer cotton + elastane fabric mix n fit similar to the slim fit straight jeans.

i find they go better with polos n button down because of the fabric n the finer details like stitching. they look n feel a bit more tailored compared to vintage chino n dockers alpha khaki. but on the other hand sometimes i do feel wearing chinos n polo looks too uniform-ish. especially a black plain polo n beige chinos LOL. some guys i see can pull off the look but others just look like they r still in their uniform.

yup those r d tees im talking about.

The word 'vintage', does it refer to the cutting or is it just a name? And this vintage chino and docker's alpha khaki's, they can go with any kind of tees or collared shirts right? I can't remember how the slim fit chinos frm Uniqlo look like, but do they really look like uniform, what student's uniforms, like those private schools?  laugh.gif . Oh what kind of button-down shirts can u recommend that can go with chinos/jeans?

Yea those Uniqlo tees are pretty good, they feel quite nice when wearing it.
*
vintage in cutting bcoz its fit more relaxed than the slim fit chino. looks and feel bit more casual too compared to the slim fit.

i guess the vintage chino would look alright with tees n button downs but the look will vary fr individual to individual and how fitted or loose u wear your clothes. example if u normally wear t shirts that r fitted then pairing it with vintage chino wont look very nice. IMO Alpha Khakis look the best with t shirts coz they have a more casual rugged look.

when i say uniforms i dont mean school uniforms. more like uniforms worn by ppl working at Royal Sporting House for example. usually a polo with chinos/jeans. that kind of vibe la if u know what i mean. some ppl pull it off some dont.

long sleeve oxford shirts look the best with chinos/jeans. flannel too. just dun get those office shirts n wear with jeans like every other guy out there. tucked in still ok. i seen some guys wear those shirts tucked out n they look like they wearing a blouse

edit: i Googled some pics of the vintage chino n they looked slimmer than those i tried. did bit more research n it looks like there r 2 types. Vintage Chino and Vintage Chino Flat Front Pants. both fit differently. Vintage chino is slim while the other one is relaxed. dun think i seen the vintage chino b4 in malaysia stores. so im guessing its been discontinued and only the Vintage Chino Flat Front Pants remain

i think Uniqlo has changed the fit of the dry packaged crew necks a bit. when i bought a few last year they fit me well.

bought a few last week n they seemed a few inches longer. i compared the older ones n d new ones i bought. sleeves on the new ones also seem bit looser.
