Same here. Waiting for the opening here in Penang.

jonny4, thanks for the tip. You've mentioned that Uniqlo's slim chino is even lighter than MNG. Wow, that's pretty thin fabric, I imagine.

Does the Uniqlo slim, tapper more than the MNG chino ?

i got about 10 pairs of the boxer briefs. for RM 19.95 a pair the quality is alright. been wearing them almost daily for 8 months and they kept their shape well. but on 2 pairs i noticed that some parts of the elastic waist band has gone out of shape. mine r all regular rise boxer briefs. i bought one low rise boxer brief and it was really uncomfortable.

on second thought i think both are about the same as both also have 2% elastane. MNG chino is slightly softer with a washed finish. MNG has another range of 100% cotton chinos...those were thicker than Uniqlos

nope the taper in the MNG is much more extreme. they r like the opposite of each other. Uniqlo has a gradual proportionate taper. tried on 31 n 32 n i can feel the slimness especially around the butt n thigh area. they r similar to the Uniqlo slim fit straight jeans, with the jeans being slightly tighter.

whereas the MNG chino is loose around the thigh n butt area but tapers suddenly to a skinny leg opening. i tried a size 32 and the waist was loose. i then tried a size 30 and it was too tight...couldn't even button up. didn't like the fit...reminds me of Justin Bieber. but i did like the small details on the MNG chino...like contrasting stitching, nicer buttons n etc...overall feels less mass produced compared to Uniqlo.

First time stepping into Uniqlo. Have been a huge fan ever since I saw their range (online) but no online merchants sell Uniqlo. Sad and sien! Probably too small profit margin.

Bloody Melbourne store only going to open some time middle of 2013.

Finally back in Msia, went to KL for 2 days or so, immediately stopped by Uniqlo in Sunway Pyd.

Picked up 2 tees after 5 seconds. And then, some winter in-door slippers, a slim fit flat front Chino, 3 colourful pairs of socks and a few pairs of boxers. w00t! All in under 10 minutes.

Uniqlo is truly a brand I would consider stocking, if I were to open an online clothing boutique store for SEA.

IINM, Uniqlo is only available in the Klang Valley at the moment, right?

Penang Branch will be opened in March at QB.

Overall, I think Uniqlo is a brand for the budget concious consumers who want a bit of quality.

I would rather disagree with the last statement above.

Won't say all of uniqlo's products are budget conscious and very high in quality.

Uniqlo's just a decent place to buy things for me when there is discounts. Normally, that's when everyone flocks in biggrin.gif

i agree.

their QC's a bit off sometimes. when u try on something at UNiqlo and it fits u well, hang on to it, dun put it back n get a newer piece. happened to me a few times. sometimes same size but they fit differently. tried on slim fit chino d other day. i couldn't decide if i want it. went back an hour later n tried on another same piece (same siZe) just to be sure and it was looser. i gave up n bought a pair of dockers alpha khakis.

in 2 weeks i bought 20 of those RM19.90 t shirts in crew n vee neck. i probably got all the colours available LOL. some colours i even bought 2 or 3. one thing i like about the dry packaged tees is that they dun loosen up too much when worn. the 23% polyester did the trick.

their socks r ok too. i have 10 pairs in multiple bright colours already.

i think im addicted to Uniqlo. everytime i go in i end up buying at least a t shirt.

suddenly I remembered I have a few of them lying somewhere in my cupboard. doh.gif forgotten about them.

i think i read d same article.

IMO the Uniqlo Slim Fit Chino would be more suited to be worn with a button down shirt or a polo n a pair of leather shoes instead of sneakers n a t shirt.

Is this Slim Fit Chino that u are talking about the same as Vintage Flat Front Chino that I asked u about the previous page? No right? So by the way u think these chino's from Uniqlo goes more well with polo's/ button down shirt rather than a tee-shirt?

These tees that u are talking about, are those plain coloured t-shirts that are packed in a plastic package?

not the Vintage Flat Front Chino...i tried on those too and they r way too baggy. the slim fit chinos r of a much thinner softer cotton + elastane fabric mix n fit similar to the slim fit straight jeans.

i find they go better with polos n button down because of the fabric n the finer details like stitching. they look n feel a bit more tailored compared to vintage chino n dockers alpha khaki. but on the other hand sometimes i do feel wearing chinos n polo looks too uniform-ish. especially a black plain polo n beige chinos LOL. some guys i see can pull off the look but others just look like they r still in their uniform.

yup those r d tees im talking about.

The word 'vintage', does it refer to the cutting or is it just a name? And this vintage chino and docker's alpha khaki's, they can go with any kind of tees or collared shirts right? I can't remember how the slim fit chinos frm Uniqlo look like, but do they really look like uniform, what student's uniforms, like those private schools? laugh.gif . Oh what kind of button-down shirts can u recommend that can go with chinos/jeans?

Yea those Uniqlo tees are pretty good, they feel quite nice when wearing it.

vintage in cutting bcoz its fit more relaxed than the slim fit chino. looks and feel bit more casual too compared to the slim fit.

i guess the vintage chino would look alright with tees n button downs but the look will vary fr individual to individual and how fitted or loose u wear your clothes. example if u normally wear t shirts that r fitted then pairing it with vintage chino wont look very nice. IMO Alpha Khakis look the best with t shirts coz they have a more casual rugged look.

when i say uniforms i dont mean school uniforms. more like uniforms worn by ppl working at Royal Sporting House for example. usually a polo with chinos/jeans. that kind of vibe la if u know what i mean. some ppl pull it off some dont.

long sleeve oxford shirts look the best with chinos/jeans. flannel too. just dun get those office shirts n wear with jeans like every other guy out there. tucked in still ok. i seen some guys wear those shirts tucked out n they look like they wearing a blouse

edit: i Googled some pics of the vintage chino n they looked slimmer than those i tried. did bit more research n it looks like there r 2 types. Vintage Chino and Vintage Chino Flat Front Pants. both fit differently. Vintage chino is slim while the other one is relaxed. dun think i seen the vintage chino b4 in malaysia stores. so im guessing its been discontinued and only the Vintage Chino Flat Front Pants remain

@MeToo : Damn! sad.gif do they run promos regularly? I think I almost bought everything full price except for the winter indoor fluffies..

@atta : Yerr, I'm still waiting and waiting! It will be overpriced as usual I assume. Shipping anything over here always costs more, even if it is by the container loads.

I want the RM9.90 t shirts! Haha. Shit.. I may have to throw all my old t shirts out if I get any more. No space liao.

i think Uniqlo has changed the fit of the dry packaged crew necks a bit. when i bought a few last year they fit me well.

bought a few last week n they seemed a few inches longer. i compared the older ones n d new ones i bought. sleeves on the new ones also seem bit looser.
