Getting Started

So far, Uniqlo has expanded to Hong Kong, Korea and even Singapore. I have heard plans of them planning to expand to Malaysia next year. Anyone excited about this brand? I've heard a lot of good things about their flannels, shirts and selvage. For people interested in the link: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.p...is-thinking-bigQUOTE Outlets are also planned to open in Thailand, Australia, Malaysia and Taiwan by next year with Indonesia and the Philippines to follow eventually. i read somewhere that after singapore, they would want to venture into malaysia. i really do hope so.
i have a couple of their soft touch tees, oxford shirts and socks...which i really2 like. visited their stores in osaka and singapore, and price wise with exchange rate are about the same.
hope that prices dont shoot up when they are in malaysia!

Doubt the prices will be overpriced. If not mistaken, price range should be similar to topshop but quality is definitely there.
I have heard nothing but good things about their denim.

Yeah, they used Kaihara denim which is the same company that used by Levis. If I'm not mistaken, they used 14 oz selvedge denim

They are more superior, coz their material quality is fantastic compare to those brand. Just my 2 cent This post has been edited by hedonkop: Mar 14 2010, 01:09 PM

The chambray quality is great and the stitching detail is very2 marvelous. It is fulled with chain stitching.

Ooops, I'm sorry about that.
Btw, IMHO.. Uniqlo have received much recognition lately except in Malaysia. The people in America and Europe grad this brand higher than other mall brand such as GAP even H&M and J.Crew. In addition, Uniqlo already open their retail store in the center of fashion city like New York and London and received great feedback from customer. Even, a respectful designer in the fashion industry like Jil Sander made collaboration with them. It shows that this brand have a high value in this fashion industry.
Just my 2 cent...

Uniqlo here in states? yet to find them here in this part of the US. Muji at one time also expanded to various parts of the world and received good review.. today also faded away. my spouse btw is japanese wouldn't grade it higher than store brands eg GAP. giving Uniqlo as a gift in their culture is kinda "insult". IMHO well designer names could be found in walmart/target brands stuff too, does not mean they have great intrinsic value. For me Designer out to make $$, want to make $$ from the rich and those avg working ppl.
my 2 cents here.

Doing pretty well from my knowledge. I don't see how your spouse's ethnicity has any relevance to any retail brands.
