i used the a-bit-cheaper-than-silverstone xqbox. Got slot + window for remote control receiver. quality wise, surprisingly, i can say similar to the silverstone ones.

It cost like US$180 per pieces ( board, power supply, chasis )  and they need minimal of 2 pcs of sample.. ( WITHOUT laptop RAM & 2.5" HDD )...

This looks like a pretty small & powerful HTPC that looks like the mac mini...

I'm hunting for a decent HTPC casing, was looking at Silverstone LC20 at the moment but the 80mm fan really turns me off, 120mm is a must for me to achieve higher airflow and most importantly it is not audible. There were a couple of Silverstone models which has 120mm fan but the design is not my cup of tea.



This baby cost me around RM800, which is around Silverstone LC20 price I believe, and I have to ship it from US to Malaysia, since the nearest distributor in Singapore doesn't have it. Looking forward to complete my HTPC with Core i5 & H55 chipset. Now I'm looking for a decent heatsink for my i5, I'm planning to run passive to minimise the fan sound.

i'm guessing you're gonna run into lots of problem if you still go on with your plans to go with the HTPC route. htpc requires lots of technical knowledge and is not for everyone. IMO you should seriusly consider the dune.

1. similar performance. tho amd + ati takes more heat and more power compared to i3. and i3 have less 3d performance from its internal graphics.
2. i bought it from garage sales. lots of links given in pages before this.
3. yes. tmt3 have a mini player that works wonderfully with wmc
first time i hear about nvidia chip that could bitstream. a new line i presume. and quick search on the net reveals that bitstream has some quirks that nvidia needs to sort out with the drivers.

i still can't quite grasp the idea of this reclock. care to explain?

high bitrate PCM as in multichannel FLAC inside MKV wrapper. hard to find such video utilizing such arrangement. if 2 channel FLAC (audio) are concerned, you might wanna try something like foobar2000 with WASAPI plugin.

1. Is there any lagging when play back High Bit Rate Full HD video with i3? like cpu utilisation max out... : Won't, everything works perfect.

2. Is there any problem so far with the picture quality, audio quality, and HD audio bitstream with i3 Integrated GPU? - No problem at all

3. Is it ALL Video can do DXVA on i3 IGP SMOOTHLY? - Never try

So far, playing 1080p mkv file no issue at all.

is it noticeable for 24p playback jitter on most movie? i mean those available to dl one.
so ATI 5000 series wont hv such a problem rite?

i heard of sandy bridge is still having prob with 24p framerate. well, tat is rumour...

tat is why i am asking all sifus here.
if the i3's IGP can handle HD audio and HD video using DXVA properly, then i dont need to buy another GPU already.
so i can save money, save electricity, and also less heat dissippation...
