Hi fellas, I'm having a nvidia gtx 550 ti graphic card which have hdmi out. Previously connect the hdmi out to tv, now that I'm having a receiver, I just realized that the hdmi out is only 2 channel only. In the nvdia setting, there is no option to change the channel output. From the spec, this card should support hd audio. Any idea guys. Been Googling, bit can't find any answer. .

hi guys, can recommend me cheapest budget for processor + motherboard for HTPC usage? Should have HDMI output. built-in wifi is a bonus. As long as can play all types of media without stutter (most of my files are just 1-2GB only) and can bitstream video and audio via HDMI.
Many many thanks!

Not using latest tech, but this is my budget setup for now:

G31M-ES2L - RM80
P4 524 3.0GHz - RM40
2GB DDR2 - RM80
8400GS with HDMI - RM40
1TB Seagate - RM160
Wireless mouse - RM40
Casing + PSU cap ayam - owned

Running WinAmp for music & Media player classic for video. Play full HD in mkv & mp4 format to my Samsung 40" with no problem so far.  icon_rolleyes.gif
But streaming HD even with LAN get some lagging...decoding bottleneck with P4 i think... doh.gif

**VLC Player & Media Player Classic can run well on low-end GPU.

I connect my PC via hdmi to my avr(yamaha aventage series). I used mpchc + madvr setting & LAV. My graphic card is nvidia 550ti. In LAV, I checked to bitstream all audio options. Let's say I play a video with 2 audio channel, then my avr will decode the audio to 5.1 channel. But I can just play the original audio in 2 channel too. Just pass thru(bitstream) the audio and play with your avr settings.
Hope this help.
