Both AMD and Intel have no problem to play Full HD. If U just use your pc for movie and browsing, why need to expend more for power CPU? But if the money not a big problem, then go to Intel. But for me, I prefer to use AMD and pay more for other part such as graphic card etc..

I do agree with u, if just for HD movie playback and web browsing, AMD is good enough. If one more into graphic designs, server hostings or etc then you may want to put the money to Intel. JMHO.

hi guys,i need some advice here.Recently i am starting to keep some untouched bluray BD-ISO but sadly to say my AC Ryan HD Mini2 does not seems to be able to play the ISO image file,so as for my Sony S380 BDP.
I however do have a PC which i want to use for my HT which is not the best performance but is an AMD dual core 3.2GHZ CPU,4 GB DDR RAM & Gigabyte HD5670 GPU with HDMI out.
So what software or player do i need to playback the BD-ISO which can bypass the HD Audio and let me Denon 4311 AVR do the decoding of the DTA-HDMA/Dolby True HD to my 5.1 system?
I am planning to hunt for an Oppo BDP93 but currently this is all i have, please help. Thanks

Guys..my htpc setup will be like this
Intel core 2 quad 2.33ghz
Asus board
Gigabyte 9800gt 1gb silent cell
320gb hdd for windows and applications
2tb + 1 tb for media files
500w power supply
Will the power be sufficient?
*
By right if your PSU is the 500W pure power, no issues at all. Get a UPS unit just in case blackout since you are using a few HDDs at one time. JMHO😀

I had the same issue. To fix this, u have to set your "Audio Output" to HDMI. If you are using optical/coax, don't worry, changing this will not affect your ouput driver.
After this, XMBC will convert correctly from AAC 5.1 to DD 5.1

Yes it works, thanks

I just plug in my Apple Mac Mini using XBMC to run BD-ISO on my HT system and for those who are new, here is some settings you need to do on the OS X settings.
1. Go to system preference -> sounds ( there will pop up a window box and first setting is sound effects, choose the ' play sound effect through' to your AVR name
2. Go to Output and select your AVR name
3. Go to XBMC and in the audio settings choose Audio Output to HDMI

Then we are all set to enjoy decoded DD 5.1 from AVR.

One thing I am not sure is why it can't decode DTS-HDMA as my ISO has the audio imbedded on it? Can anyone explain what I am missing?
