Hello all,
I've recently set up a simple home entertainment set, ie HDTV hooked to my PC. Now, I have a growing collection of bluray and HD movies and tv series. Getting difficult to track them.
Can anybody recommend any software to organise all these ? Would be great if I run the software and I can see a graphic art of all the movies I have, organised into genre or language or director etc. And clicking on the movie will produce information on the movie (director, actors/actresses, sypnosis etc). And ability to play the movie from the software.
Surfing online I have found a few software such as MyFilms, AllMyMovies, Movienizers etc. But would like your opinion or input on what you are using and what you recommend.
Thanks !
Anwa

QUOTE(aneip @ Mar 13 2010, 07:37 PM) XBMC supports viewing and playing a vast library of audio, video and image formats. XBMC has a sophisticated library management system that allows you to organize all your media to give you quick and immediate access. Also highly recommended..

Do these softwares have the auto find movie info feature? I may have read somewhere about movie organizers that automatically look up for info (which includes movie poster) at imdb or something.

I may have read somewhere about movie organizers that automatically look up for info (which includes movie poster) at imdb or something. i'm pairing XBMC with Ember Media Manager as suggested in the XBMC thread. have to say, it's much better than using the built-in XBMC movie scrapper. don't have to create .nfo files and the such. i tried mediabrowser plugin on top of win7 media centre, but there's no media manager like ember for it. and it can't read the movie info in xml format that i've set for each movie. so now i'm sticking to XBMC for the time being

Trying out win7 media centre with mediabrowser plugin. Took some time to reorganise movies into the recommended directory system. The mediabrowser takes a while to populate all the movies cover art, but still no actor photos.
Will try a few more days, then might give XBMC a try. Have installed it but a bit confusing how to use. Furthermore xbmc forum website is down, can't get help.

Getting Started

|
You MUST try MediaPortal with StreamedMP skin and MovingPictures plug-in. The latest versions are very stable...plus there are lots of other plug-ins.

Sort of giving up on Media Browser for win7 media centre. Spent whole day reorganising the movies into recommended directory.
Now going to try XBMC with Ember Media Manager. Ember seemed clever, able to search for cover art, subtitles etc.
cosmicmeadow - may I know why you recommend Mediaportal ? What are the features that you find useful and better than media browser or xbmc ?
