INTER COACH'S FUTURE IN DOUBT
Mourinho puts clubs on red alert

Jose Mourinho could be at the centre of an incredible managerial merry go round which would see some of the biggest names and largest clubs switching their bosses, if he leaves Inter Milan this summer.

Mourinho has emerged as the number one target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, who crashed out of the Champions League last week, and the "Special One" has a buy-out clause of £5.5 million written into his current contract, which expires in 2012.

Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester City are also monitoring Mourinho's situation and an number of football insiders have tipped the Portuguese to make a return to England.

Mourinho was hired by Inter to win the Champions League, and despite denials to the contrary, the likelihood of his imminent departure will be triggered if he fails to get past Chelsea on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.

The Anfield future of Rafael Benitez has once again been thrown into doubt with the Spaniard becoming overly frustrated with the club's American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, and his support in the boardroom continues to diminish.

The Sunday newspapers report that the Reds could be the subject of a £100 million investment bid from the New York-based Rhone Group and if the deal goes through the equity company would be eager for a new manager to give a fresh direction to the stagnating club.

However, if Mourinho were to return the Premier League his most likely destination would be Manchester City, where almost limitless funds are in place to build a formidable side.

Soccernet recently revealed that Mancini is being touted as the next Italy coach, with the Italian federation anxious to name their new boss pre-World Cup to avoid all the diversions and distractions about the identity of Marcello Lippi's successor after the tournament in South Africa.

And if City fail to make it into the top four this term, Mancini will be axed, with a contract that has a break point in the summer to be reviewed depending on the teams Champions league position.

As Soccernet has again lead the way, Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc has already been sounded out to succeed Mourinho at Inter.

At Anfield, the two front runners are Martin O'Neill and Alex McLeish, with the Birmingham boss the cheap option as he has a relatively small £1 million buy out clause, while O'Neill would be much more expensive to prise away from Aston Villa.

Mourinho's first choice would be Manchester United, but with no sign of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, he would then go for Liverpool, providing they had new funding, but wouldn't say no to becoming by far the worlds No 1 paid coach at Manchester City

we already got players that play for their Nation, we got 20M player in the bench, we got promises youngster, we got a great fans....he's not managing Wigan or Portsmourt...he's managing Liverpool, if he can bring us the title, he will be great....

'He managed to get his team to be a winner with limited budget' - does it sounds good? Does Morinho like the challenge?

Lets dream.... smile.gif

Daniel Agger: I won't walk away

Daniel Agger will not consider leaving Liverpool this summer, despite suggestions over the weekend that Fernando Torres' long-term future is in doubt due to the club's current predicament.

Torres claimed in an interview in Spain on Saturday that Liverpool need to recruit "four or five" world-class players in the summer having fallen far off the title pace and been forced into a prolonged battle to claim the fourth Champions League spot ahead of Tottenham, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

The Spanish striker also said it was "too soon" to talk about his long-term future, leading many to conclude that he will consider other options if Liverpool fail to show adequate progress.

But Agger is certainly not contemplating leaving Anfield and the Danish defender is keen to make amends for what has been a terrible season for the Merseysiders under Rafael Benitez this season.

"I wouldn't walk away. I'd fight to put it right next year because I'm not a quitter," Agger said. "I've been close to winning trophies, but I still don't have any. That's a big disappointment because that's the reason I came to Liverpool."

Liverpool are four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and two behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand. The Reds welcome Portsmouth to Fratton Park on Monday night and Agger is in no doubt as to the importance of the game with Champions League participation at stake.

"We can't slip up any more because it's getting to the end of the season and we know we need more points," Agger said. "I can't imagine not being in the Champions League. That's the tournament we all want to be in. But it's our own fault where we are now and we have to get out of it.

"The fans have a right to expect Liverpool to be in the top four. A big club like Liverpool should be in there every year, but as we know football doesn't always work like that.

"The pressure of that shouldn't come into it. When you come to a club like this there will always be pressure to be successful. Maybe we'll have to start to imagine not being in the top four. But for as long as we have a chance we have to keep believing.

"If you play at a football club like Liverpool you always need to take responsibility, no matter who you are. You do that on and off the pitch, but you must definitely do it in the games."

To be honest, what Liverpool needs now is a player playing behind Torres and has the ability to finish well, not just passing it to Torres and hopes Torres can finish it for the team. We can't rely on our inexperience Lucas in the middle pairing with Mascherano who isn't creative enough. Though both of them have done well, we need someone to play-make which Gerrard can do it for now and maybe the old-prince from Roma will do well behind Torres. Aquilani should start a couple of games.

i've been saying that before.... Gerrard can do the job..but someone need to cover his position, in the centre, Aqua and Gerrard can switch position also...but our manager like to play 2 defensive!!! i dont mind if Lucas play as attacking!

It's time for a change of tactics perhaps? Gerrard has too little space to create his magic. Torres has been wasteful and Johnson is cutting inside too much. He should provide more support to the right wing than cutting inside and loses possession. And even if he did, I'm not sure if less-flair-minded Kuyt can do anything at wide right. sad.gif Sigh, as Torres said before, the team needs a total revamp.

Tactics? WHERE IS GERRARD LONG SHOT????????

I said it, Gerrard had too little space playing behind Torres. What he does always are just through balls and he's the best player in the squad to play in the position as he and Torres have somewhat telepathic brains. If he does play where Lucas is playing now, he sure has more chances and time to dictate the play. And guys, stop blaming Lucas already. I'm really dissapointed of Torres for the game today. No doubt he was at his best in the previous games and I do appreciate his contributions but a player of his quality should've really convert the chances he had today.

Dont worry mate, im just shouting at Rafa...hehehe...what you said, it just like what manager should do...thats why i dont know what happen to Rafa actually....

Golden Past, Bleak Future?
Not many of you were around when we last slipped out of the top four, and won next to nothing. Trust me, it feels like crap and there won't be a thing you can do about it, short of jumping ship. For those of you that climbed onboard in the 90's, it will be a test of your character but one that I'm sure most of you will pass. If you already feel suicidal when you see grinning mancs jumping about as they win trophies each season, you won't survive this test, trust you me. The good thing is that those of you who do pull through will feel a much stronger connection to the club. Why? Because when silverware is removed from the equation, you will need to find something to hold on to. Values, traditions, culture, anything. All I can guarantee is that when you find this reason, you will find your calling and you will never ever walk alone. Brace yourselves lads. See you on the other side of the storm smile.gif

Exactly what my friend's grandpa told us , " Mancs are basically the most arrogant fans you'll ever find , it happens even if they are a mid table team or a top table team." " Not many fans were helpful towards the Munich disaster, that very much shows how other fans take em."  .

To be frank , i am expecting a dark age like the 1990's again unless there's a new takeover upon the ownership. If being a Kop needs to bear the pain of losing out on all titles for another 50 years, do count me in smile.gif

eventhough i will go to another galaxy and return to Earth, when somebody ask me, 'Which football team do you support?' straight away i will answer "LIVERPOOL FC"
