My choice is none of above doh.gif
I like zoom with retain aspect ratio, but not until full screen. Still have pillar box, but I can control which area to crop. It will be great if byond can set to 10%, 20% - 100% zoom.

but the zoom mode truncated so much of the picture that even the subtitle are gone??... hmm...

But you can use it for 16:9 SD channel that has closed caption subtitle like History Channel without losing too much picture

How many channel has Closed Caption? They should start to work on converting to using CC already. Open Captioning is embarrassing if done wrong (seen it happen on RTM and TV9 very, very often) and irritating.

As i notice:
- TVIQ
- History
- Hallmark
If you know other channel, let me know

by the way, what is open caption and close caption?

In simple words:
Closed Caption - You can turn on/off subtitle by pressing subtitle button
Open Caption - Subtitle is always there

Pardon me, quite some time not watch the channel. But I remember last time when it was in channel 10/11 (can't remember) it has closed caption
