QUOTE(Ken @ Mar 16 2010, 12:37 PM)
if united can't win this match with pool has to play in mid week, it means they really better then united ... in terms of manager tactic ...
*
Or they could just be our 'bogey' team. A lot of times the lesser sides do win in these type of contest.. rivalry. Form and ability doesn't mean a thing.

QUOTE(Ken @ Mar 16 2010, 02:28 PM)
what to say ... who ask united drop points against burnley in the 2nd league outing ... if that match end with draw, the 1 point gained make so much difference and important now ...

still, the title is in united hand ... win all remaining matches ... trophy remained in manchester ...

btw, lets support chelsea tonight ... if not ... they will have more rest time in the EPL matches ... the quarterfinal is sandwiched between man united v chelsea fixture ...

i guess all united fans wants the 19th title more rather then the CL ...
*
That's how the world works. You can't win all the time. That's just the way it is.

QUOTE(verbatim @ Mar 16 2010, 03:01 PM)
Retaining BPL is more important than winning CL.. What is the point of boasting european champions when not even champions of england...
*
I will gladly take either one at this point. If we win the league and fell short again in Europe, I'll be disappointed. But we will always be the favourites for the league as long as we keep the core of our players here. While it will still be a disappointment to lose the league title, but if we win the CL, that would be fantastic and more than make up for it. It is much harder to win the CL. Now that we are a regular in the latter stages of the competition, we should make the most of it. In 3-5 years things could change with Italians back as the favourites while English clubs decline. We're already on par with Liverpool right now in terms of league title, it's time for us to catch them and the other European giants in terms of CL wins. We will always challenge and have a chance of winning the league, while the CL which is a cup competition depends on a lot of factors.. luck, form on the night etc.

Gerrard forearm smash!

He's innocent! The despicable Brown have a magnetic field which absorbs Gerrard's arm towards his head there.

I don't want Barca although if we were to meet them, it's better in a 2 legged tie. I don't want Arsenal as well. Not that I don't feel confident but after having it easy the last few times we played them, I feel they would be really up for it. And if we were to get knocked out, it's better to a foreign team.

What a legend.
Hargreaves: "In a perfect world, obviously I'd love to be a part, but I have to do what's best for me, best for Man United and then England."

Added on March 19, 2010, 2:31 pmI don't rate him much as a CM, but his return would be a good boost for us. From the reserve clips he seemed to play well doing the simple things which I thought he was shit at. He will play his part for sure in the big games should he be available and ready for those games. His energy and running would be fantastic in those games. Looking forward to it. Having O'Shea back would be super as well. Evra might get his well earn rest. But he has to last till then unless SAF trust Fabio for the job in some games.

It will be nice to have 2 energy tanks in both Fletcher & Hargo (when fit) hence reducing the workload on Fletch's shoulder  nod.gif
Yep. CSKA Moscow is the last thing that we need at the moment  sweat.gif

QUOTE(milky @ Mar 19 2010, 05:04 PM)
but pirlo wont drop like starfish...
now it seems that SAF love to use 4-5-1 formation already....
*
Ever since Keano left, we've used both the 442 and 433/451 for different type of games. 442 for the easier games, and 451/433 for the big games.

QUOTE(aa1985 @ Mar 19 2010, 04:40 PM)
been thinking if we use the same strategy as vs milan..can PJS marking gerard?like he did to pirlo?..
*
That would be down to whoever plays in CM. Gerrard plays in a more advanced position so Park won't go head to head with him.

QUOTE(rayz1031 @ Mar 19 2010, 06:11 PM)
Well, although it is a home match, SAF going to deploy a 4-5-1 formation and the reason is simple, this is a match where we need to win. 4-4-2 leave the midfield vulnerable to Gerrard penetration and leave our back four to threats from Torres as well. So my guess is that Park, Carrick and Fletcher will covering the midfield while Valencia on the right flank and Nani on the other side.

If Valencia is on form, he can pawn Insua anytime as he is not that great defender compared to Johnson, and with his pin point crosses, Rooney can score more with his header laugh.gif
*
We've played 442 the last few times we've met them. In all those games Fletcher wasn't available. Would be interesting this time. Hope he plays.

QUOTE(alien2003 @ Mar 19 2010, 06:22 PM)
Cannot see Scholes not starting this one so if Park start then it means Nani bench?

Btw, http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6036631,00.html

Expect them to be thrashed by Chelsea then  rolleyes.gif
*
Roman at work? Won't be surprised. laugh.gif

QUOTE(nimrod2 @ Mar 19 2010, 06:28 PM)
owh lols. then if u put in park will be 4 central midfields.
means park play on the wing?

if like that :

                      fletcher

valencia  -  scholes  -  carrick  -  park

then scholes carrick can move up with more freedom.
*
It'll be a Carrick/Scholes who would nearer to our defenders.

I was hoping we'd meet one of the French teams. Bayern won't be easy at all. Robben, Ribery..

I know..what I meant was the Fulham match. A Man Utd fan should know Benfica very well after they knocked us out of the group stage in 2005.  sweat.gif Unforgettable.

Ever since then, we've been awesome though. Knocked out by Milan in the semi's, winner, final.. now quarter final. Good learning curve for the players that time. Keano left in December or something that year, then Scholes got his eye problems around the same time as well. O'Shea-Giggsy CM combo FTW!

Park doesn't have to mark someone for this game. Focus more on attacking. He does look the part in the last few big games. More of that please.

I was having my early dinner at Old Town's when i saw a Liverpool supporter wearing their away jersey. Nothing special right? till i saw the most hilarious thing i've ever seen in my life. The sleeve badge read : Champions 2008-2009.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif . YNWA - You'll Never Win Anything ! laugh.gif

They got the matches on DVD I bet. laugh.gif

Added on March 20, 2010, 7:14 pmSAF doing his best off the pitch with his comments again. Someone, and probably the whole lot of them won't be too happy with that. Will there be another list?

Added on March 20, 2010, 7:17 pmLet the games begin.. laugh.gif

"That’s possible. I think he is right there. I think he is a top player and when you don’t have top players you don’t get top results. But we had a time this season when all our defenders were injured. We had midfielders playing in defence. What do you expect? You don’t expect your best results when you haven’t got your best players. That applies to every team, not just Liverpool."
