Park would mark someone like Carrick/Pirlo/Scholes.. those quarterback style midfielders.

Don't bother with those can't-do-no-wrong-and-the-bestest-ever football fans. They are angels. God made them perfect.

He knows that nothing would stop Rooney from scoring the penalty kick. It will go in either way with the luck Rooney has ATM. So he 'sabotage' the spot, so that later on in the game it would make it look like the ball bounced and he misskick it. He's coming to us in the summer.. happy days.

With Evra, Park, Rooney and Fletcher, it's like we have 5x3 at once. If got Hargreaves as well...

Hopeless case I'm afraid.
See Manucho.. unless he turns into the Black Pele in the next two years. A lot depends on what instruction he's given, and the supporting cast. If it's a straight 433(3 flat midfield), then Berba would suck so bad unless the wingers can truly support him. But even with Rooney, that formation tend to leave the striker isolated and the wingers would be ineffective. If the formation is like the one deployed against Milan and Liverpool recently, then it may look prettier and more effective. Park playing in that hole between midfield and striker doing a great job when defending and moving all over the place when attacking. If only Berba's movement and energy is like Park's or Park's touch and composure is like Berba's.. |

QUOTE(sunnyK @ Mar 24 2010, 03:50 PM) just like berba , rio ferdinand is a desperate or even panic buy. leeds utd after selling cantona to us on a bargain in the early 1990s and knowing how much success he's brought to utd is always not going to sell rio on the cheap and so they milk the hell out of us at almost 31 MBP . the most expensive defenders at that time and probably still is today . he's english and he ain't gonna come cheap to us. We weren't really desperate for Berbatov since we have Tevez and Rooney who could both play in his position well. But SAF saw the need for his ability and composure.. probably with Rooney's future development in mind and with Giggs showing his age. He was never going to be cheap.fergie had always been an admirer of berba since his leverkusen days and he first offer spurs 24 MBP . spurs keep on dragging and up the price until the last day of transfer window. utd finally got berba at 30 MBP . but from what i understand , both players desperately want to play for united and they've prove it on the pitch especially berba lately . he's been hardworking and never selfish. rio , except for the forgetful or wilful drugtest incidents, had always been committed and dedicated to united. because of the high pricetag , both are consider expensive purchases and even overrated but what the heck ,many people think we are united and we can afford to and other clubs always presumed we are rich until last January where we all know now ,the debts escalated to 700 MBP . eric cantona set the ship sailing for our challenge and winning the BPL titles , and peter , on that unforgettable night in barcelona almost single handedly won us the champions league trophy and definitely frustrate dennis bergkamp for that important penalty safe in the semi final of the 1999 FA cup which set the course for us winning the famous treble in 1999 for me the real bargain of a lifetime , is giggs , scholes and g. neville and probably in that order too. their influence both , on and off the football is immeasurable and priceless .although a little boring in their personality , they are the exemplary model for the cause of manchester united and every other football player As for Rio.. yeah, being English and ManUtd tax, meant that he would cost a hell lot. Have to remember Leeds spent 18m on him just a few seasons before we showed our face in front of them. I'm glad we took the plunge. There were others who might have been better than him at the time and would cost less, but would they have last as long as him? He's been here for 8 years already. Would be hard to imagine a foreign player being that long in any team outside their own country. Wonder if we can add Rodwell to our English collection. Would be hard this time since Everton are doing well in the league. As for the debts, it's the Glazer's. They're the ones who are in debt, but unfortunately they own us so they can do whatever they like. Now we're carrying that burden helping them paying it off. True about those Fergie's Fledglings. Giggs we've known about. He frustrates us sometimes.. or rather a lot of times(reminds me of Nani), but more so than most he would be the one that would come up with a moment of magic that help us score. Gary is Mr Consistent. Although he struggles ever since he came back from that long injury lay off, but recently he's been very dependable. Scholes is just a genius. He can control things at will. Fantastic footballer. We look a much2 better side with him on the pitch that's for sure. He makes things look so easy. We won't replace him anytime soon unless we can prise away Fabregas from Arsenal and that would never happen. It's up to the likes of Fletcher, Brown, Evans and O'Shea to fly the flag. Hopefully more will join them in the future. As for VDS.. one thing came up after another. He already agreed to sign for Juve when we finally approached him(we were probably hoping and trying to persuade the Big Dane to change his mind perhaps?). We got Barthez in 00/01 season. VDS was still at Juve that time and moved to Fulham in 01/02 season. We were stuck with Barthez at the time. No one could have predicted that Barthez would turn into a clown in his 2nd season. 03/04 we found Howard. EPL GK of the season in his first season but downhill ever since our game against Porto. He never recovered. The reason why VDS was never on anyone's radar was probably because of his bad spell in Juve and playing for Fulham who was a mini Chelski at the time meant that he didn't have that much coverage. His age was also catching up with him. Probably one of the most important signings SAF made for this current side. He's given us 5 top class seasons.. really a steady influence for our side. Evra, VDS. Vida.. less than 15m for them. 4-5 seasons with us now. Bargain! Don't forget Rafael and Fabio cost very little and Evans came up through the youth.. Rafa could learn a thing or two about spending his money from SAF. |

Added on March 24, 2010, 6:22 pm QUOTE(71ers @ Mar 24 2010, 05:50 PM) i tot we went for Bosnich to replace Schmeichel but things doesnt work out. Liverpool were also interested in him I think. That time Fiorentina also was talking to them if I'm not mistaken. His signing got delayed because of that.I still think the scouts scouted Vidic well, in fact he was the cornerstone of the Serbian team that qualified for the last World Cup but just that nobody heard of him at all http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...ticle782943.ece This post has been edited by Wan: Mar 24 2010, 06:22 PM |

QUOTE(Hevrn @ Mar 26 2010, 12:14 PM) Which Past United Player Would You Have Liked To Watch Most? I would love to see Robson in his prime. They said he was a lot better than Keano. Keano was a monster and can you just imagine what kind of a monster Robson was. George Best without a doubt. From what little I've seen of him on youtube, he looks like a phenomenal talent. Bamboozling defenders with ease, the way he controls the ball and strikes it is amazing. All this considering how the condition of the pitch and technology (to the ball, boots, fitness training etc.) was back in the days. Its a crying shame that he let his personal life interfere with his football (Fergie would've sorted him out) and his passing was well-publicised thruout Manchester. And his hair, omg. No wonder supermodels were lifting their skirts for him. I'm dreaming of Rodwell.. damn. Anderson.. out for the season. Injured his knee a couple of weeks back. |

QUOTE(beckzaidan @ Mar 28 2010, 03:57 AM) yup. i still remember the game. he terroriZed for us on the left flank. those first time step over shows really jawdropping lah... It's been two seasons here already and he still plays the same style even when he's the lone man forward. SAF instruction is more likely the reason he plays the way he has, and also his ability and tendency to drop off whenever possible. for me, Berba need to brainwash his style of play. He needs to be in the penalty box, and score poacher goals, because his finishing is quite good and calm. Those two goal he scored just now, started with moves that he hadnt involved from the start, and find him at the end inside the penalty box. he needs to be a poacher. only rooney can play a triquestra (i dont know the exact terms lah, lupa) type of strikers. and now we got Park. We loan Tosic out in January. Hope he does well and improve his game there and hopefully come back a better player if we don't sell him off that is. A left footed winger would be a great option to have. |

Park 3 goals
Fletch, Carrick, Giggs, Gibson all got 4 goals each. Scholes 6. Ando 1.. Hopefully Gibson will develop his all round attributes because he is a goal threat and that will do nicely since we don't have that kind of player in midfield. |
